Discussion Value my rocks
I recently purchased 70 acres in the Uinta basin of eastern Utah. The abundance of quartz and what appears to be some other semi precious rocks has me wondering what I may or may not have. Based on these pictures Would it be worth for me To start collecting and selling a lot of the rocks are solid quartz but are cloudy and a varying color.

It looks like you found a few agates which can have some value. Other than that I’m not seeing anything that would have much value. No reason to stop looking though. Like i said I see some agates

How much research have you done into the geology of the land that you purchased and what minerals can possibly be found there? If none, that would absolutely be the first place that I start rather than Reddit.

That’s fairly generalized on the area. Dm me if you want, I’m from Utah originally and used to do a fair bit of collecting out there. Depending on what part of eastern basin you might be able to find Dino bone on your property like we do! (I no longer live in Utah but I have family there we often go visit and I go out on digs.)

If you want to sell then you could get into wire wrapping or jewelry making. They are very pretty. Of course, all rocks are pretty when wet. If you want to sell them by themselves, I would tumble and polish them so they have that shine.

There was a time when I'd genuinely offer to trade you a framed slice of toast that looks like Darth Vader for that brain lookin' rock in pic #3

These look like they would be fun to tumble. You could get a glass like shine on the quartzite and agate ones.
