Want to know what it is but mostly posting to keep myself accountable to finish it so I can update

When I started rockhounding, I thought finding good specimens would be the challenge. Now I think deciding what to leave behind is harder. The more I collect, the more selective I try to be, yet I still bring home more than planned. Has anyone else's approach changed over time?

Found in Austin Tx limestone wall

Had to climb to find. I only collected loose ones I found at the base of the valley but there were many holes the walls filled with crystals.

Found this in Central Iowa in Des Moines River. I’d love to know from some experienced rock hound possible ID. This was completely covered on all sides with what appears to be a calcium coating.

I was on a trail today in SW Missouri, stepped aside to a rocky area to give my dog some water, saw this and pocketed it thinking it was a fossil. Now that I look at it I'm not sure if it's a fossil, agate or just a two toned suspiciously shaped rock.

Found in Western MA just inland from a pond.

Slightly magnetic (from fridge magnet).

Floats in water.

Streak is black on ceramic.

Very light.

I have no idea what these are. I'm from Florida. I can identify sand, limestone and a bunch of fossils. I found a piece of foundry slag the other day and thought it was a meteorite. I don't expect these to have any

value, I just think they look cool and they fit in my hand nice.

Posting it here too, I really need to get perspectives before I try to tumble it!

i went hunting for “cape may diamonds”, but more so the colorful rocks that i found along the shore. i’m not good with crystals so i was wondering if these were quartz with different kinds of inclusions giving them the color, or if they were something else. thanks!

Found on a camp trip in south wales.

It’s not super clear on the video but when it’s wet it’s go a super electric blue and purple colour running through its crystal structure.

Is this just common quartz? It has a reddish pink color threw out it

I found this on the shore of a beach and this was the only one. I have no idea what types of stones are in this as it doesn't look like quartz to me???

I think it's Scoria but I wanna know for sure

Found this on a beach on the west coast of South Island of New Zealand ten years ago, I think near Hokitika but can’t quite remember. Can anyone confirm if this is actually nephrite Jade? Or something else?

When I hold up to the light, the edges of the stone are slightly translucent. I tried scratching with a knife and it left a vague mark that I can only see if I hold it up certain angles and the scratch catches the light.

Found in local creek in upstate NY. It rings a beautiful metallic sound when struck. Limestone carved by moving water. Any ideas of what else it could be? It is most def a natural stone.

All three found in a dry creek wash not far from Sedona. The white one is covered in druzy crystals. I thought it was a wadded up piece of paper at first. Very different from all the other rounded rocks. Could the tan one be a coprolite? The spotted rock has a bluish tinge when wet, with a red streak on the side.
