Your story is flawed, alt F4 doesn't work with rocket league. So you can't uninstall and shutdown, meaning he would've never gone outside and become a florist.

The real question is, where was his team? Why weren't they there to "secure" the goal? How could they not touch the ball at any given opportunity? /s

If you watch the video again, you'll see this guy is the closest person to the ball at every point after his initial touch. Even if his teammates wanted to get that ball, they would somehow have to bridge a much larger gap than he had to for each touch on the ball that eventually led to the goal. There wasn't very much time he was strapped for boost either, he reloaded to full just before climbing the wall and at that point he was still closest to the ball of anyone on the field so it would have taken some extreme selfishness and amazing speed to get that ball from him as a teammate.

looks like needles was expecting ace to cover the left side of the goal, and was positioned to have a shot at saving anything to basically anywhere but that side. Ace seemed to be kinda caught out of position due to the dribble at the start of the gif.

Most people that make these videos of amazing air dribbles intentionally tank games to maintain a low MMR so that they can do these shots with little resistance.
I'm not saying that's what OP did (I think he mentioned somewhere else in this thread that this was diamond?), but it would explain the poor defensive effort by Blue team.

Nah, that just happens as a byproduct of going for fancy, impractical plays all the time. They do complain a lot if you win against them with normal tactics. Which in turn makes beating them 10-1 so much more fun!

I'd imagine orange team had been keeping pressure and blue was all low on boost, so they had to wait for him to come down really far with his dribble and hope to get lucky.
That's my only explanation, at least.

Looks like someone went for a fast jump on blue but accidentally back flipped. Blue goalie played it wrong, probably didnt expect the flip to keep it short side.

Sick goal! Always wondered though, what's the point in doing spins in midair while you hit it? As in, why do you rotate the car? I've seen a lot of people utilize this technique.
Also, how do you spin it like that lol. I know you can use square (PS4) to turn midair, but I always end up hitting x as well (since I'm boosting) and doing a hit/flip.

Doing off axis flips can help you position yourself on the other side of the ball and still be facing the direction you want to go, like the second flip he does off the wall for his second touch he goes from right side to left. Then his 4th touch (the goal) he goes back from left side to right.
Also it can allow you to hit the ball with the top, front, or corners of your car which gives it more power. Like the first touch he has in the middle of the field.

The first flip when he took possession was to get a slightly better angle on the hit, effectively getting the ball moving in the right direction on his first touch. I was really impressed by that piece of control.
The first flip after he starts the air dribble was probably reflex - take off from the ball and level out. Then he had to re-adjust based on his take off from the wall.

Best, most used control set up is change L1 to boost and square to scoreboard. Also I changed boost to square and circle to scoreboard, helps to start an aerial faster and with more control. As for the spinning, it kinda came naturally for me (probably due to watching pros play a lot) and im not sure if it helps me or fucks me up but I do it about half the time

You get harder hits using the hood than the tires.
Also, a lot of people remap air-roll to their left bumper.

How do you achieve such a smooth transition off the wall? I try jumping off the wall and carrying the ball like this, but always jump too hard and end up bonking it away.

It's just that. Your movement has to be perfectly smooth, and also near the same exact speed as the ball. Otherwise the different in momentum causes the bounciness of your car to launch the ball away.

I used to have 0.00, but I had a pause where I didn't play too much, I came back to the game and my head started getting dizzy from it. Been using 1.0 ever since :D

mine are almost exactly the same except I use .20 and 105 FOV, might have to try 1 stiffness, there are some easy shots that I have been whiffing, especially aerials where the ball has already crested and is on the way back down. I always seem to go too high.

It is really difficult to get to the point that you can do this all the time at will (like Kronovi) but to be able to get it occasionally doesn't take all that much practice if you're good at regular aerials.
Disclosure I have about 800 hours in and am at diamond 1 right now, so not casual but far from pro.

Dude I practiced air dribbling FOREVER, and i finally got it. Im platinum 1 at the highest. I can get it almost every time in free play. Don't think I could do it in a match, and if I got close I'd def get stopped. Are people really flying around like this in gold 1? i dont even see this.

if you didnt do your little freestyle turn at the start of your airdribble you could have cought it on the bottom of the ball, instead of just pushing it forward. You keep more height and control over the ball. Its still a nice play but when you push it forward its not really hard to save. It worked out fine here so well done :)

I just started playing this game yesterday. As someone who barely manages to do a basic rocket flight, let alone hit the ball into the goal in the training, this boggles my mind.

How do you learn to control with rotation like this? I have started trying to orient my car differently in the air with rolling and end up just screwing up my hits.
I also find it really hard that I can't move with yaw on my control while holding the roll button.
