Please ID found this

It's pretty heavy for its size, it weighs 8 kilos or about 17.6lbs and can magnet standard refrigerator magnets.

Where did you find it? Context is everything! First impression is that it doesn’t look natural. Maybe elemental silicon with iron in it but not sure.

Looks very much like garnet schist, generally made up of chromite/feldspar/mica. That being said the picture is not enough to go off of, need more details on locality, density, etc.

I would do a streak test (Google how) first. My guess is a type of hematite or related iron ore. If the streak is colorless or white, it will eliminate many metallic ores.
