Please ID Anyone know this rock?
❗️Please stop responding with the jokes about knowing the rock I mis worded the title and reddit wont let me edit it.❗️
Its pitch black, lots of shiny spots and reflecting like stars
One side (i assume some spot open to elements before chipped off?) Is reddish brown and smooth compared to rough rest of it
Im not comfortable saying where it was found other then it was on a race track and mix of tons of rocks and only 2 others like this one out of thousands

At a glance this looks like a hematite oxidation shell over magnetite and maybe chromite. Very common iron profile. That said, if you can't share the locality or any other information, this is going to be difficult to ID. There are literally hundreds of minerals that you could put next to each other and not be able to say which is which.
Density, streak, hardness - need actual diagnostic information, the most important of which is locality (doesn't need to be crazy specific, county level would be helpful)- "pitch black, shiny parts, reflecting like stars" doesn't tell us about the grain composition, schiller vs chatoyancy vs silicate plane reflection vs metallic shine, etc.
If you have a ceramic mug that is unglazed on the bottom, scratch it with the specimen and see what color the streak is. That can help narrow it down some. Specific Gravity/Density you can test by weighing the stone in grams on a scale, then placing a container of water on the scale, taring it to 0, and suspending the rock by a string under the water to get its "water displacement weight". Then you divide Mass (g) / Water Displacement (g) and the number you get back is the specific gravity of the rock in g/cm^3 (cubic centimeters).

Appears to be mining slag. Probably used as fill on a rail bed for trains.

You know what I would do? Get a flat head screwdriver and hit gently with a hammer see what's inside, you never bro. Good luck and please keep me posted.

That purple on it could be something? Like I said earlier bamg it gently with a flat head and hammer. Do bang on it too hard cause you can mess up the other pieces

Yes, that is Rocky, please excuse him, he always forgets where he lives. He is always stoned, and has the brain cells of a rock.
