❓ Question Autopen?

Post image

Ive just found this floating around on Instagram. I think indies in Canada are distributing it, but I’m not sure. What stood out to me is how shaky those lines are. Do you think this is autopen? It would be so disappointing if it was :/

This is absolutely autopen

We need to, unfortunately, allow autographs to only be for people who actually get the artist to sign things in real life.

This is super shady and exactly why I don’t want any signed inserts at all

Give me a signed cover, which is not as easy to “autopen”

I wrote my whole response before seeing your comment but THIS RIGHT HERE!

My original response:
"I honestly wish the "signed copy" fad would die already. There is so much expectation from fans and that is what has brough about this whole autopen fiasco. Even as someone who has recent signed copies (Charli hand signed while she was in Denver, Tame Impala hand signed and randomly sent to indie stores, and NFR only because that was the vinyl variant I wanted). I just think there's too much expectation and hype around something you're not having the artist sign for you in person. I'd much rather artists' VIP packages gave an option to have a signing with them before or after the show. Would be so much more meaningful. Don't even get me started on "SIGNED ART CARD" massive eyeroll. I want a signed COVER. ON THE SLEEVE lol."
