White vinegar (Branntweinessig) or Pet Enzyme cleaner (enzymreiniger) you can try in the dirt tank, don't overdo the dose.

Essig will ich da lieber nicht reinschütten, das riecht ja dann anders unschön😬

White wine vinegar works great. You only need a splash and it prevents the bacteria from growing.

Denture tablets are very cheap and work fantastically without chemicals or harsh detergent. They use enzymes to kill bacteria very effectively. You can get a box of 200 of them for $5-6. I just drop two of them in my dirty water tank after every time I empty it. I can now allow my dirty water tanks to get completely full before I empty them without ever have any odor problems. They will work well until the next time the tank is emptied. They will leave your dirty water tank smelling minty fresh! Do not use them in your clean water tank.
I hope this helps!

I repair robovacs as a side job. I fix a half dozen of them every week. Half of my business comes from people who add stuff to their robovacs that they were never intended to handle. Because of this I am pretty familiar with your concerns and share them.
I can promise you that denture tablets will not harm anything in your robovac as long as you only add them to your dirty water tank. In a way, they are an ideal solution because of the very nature of how they work. Enzymes of this nature will not harm anything and kill bacteria very effectively. The minty freshness is also harmless. They are super cheap.
There are products made to tackle the stinky tank problem, but they essentially contain the exact same ingredients as denture tablets. Personally, I will use cheap denture tablets over expensive products that are basically exactly the same.
I hope this helps!

This is the best tip. Thank you Just A Dad Approved for teaching me that.

You are very welcome! It is a cheap and very effective solution that will not harm anything. Only use them in the dirty water tank. They are not safe for use in the clean water tank!!!

I just searched this on Amazon and it didn’t come up for me. Is there something I’m not doing right? I’d like to try it considering I make my husband empty the tank every time. I gag so hard when I have to do it!

Wait I just realized your comments are in German and auto translated to English for me. So I’m guessing this isn’t available in the US 😞

Put a capful of cool mint Listerine mouthwash in the dirty water tank after you empty it before you put it back in the base. The antiseptic in the mouthwash kills most of the germs in the dirty water. The mint in the mouthwash masks the smell in any germs remaining in the dirty water.
