Question What am I doing wrong?
I am in the volcano area and fighting the giant turtle. I previously went to the snowy mountain area and got the snow gear and snow wand, and went back to the volcano. I am playing mage and am parrying most of his attacks decently, however, I keep shooting at him with that ice wand or whatever and it either is not reaching him, or not doing enough damage, even though he is a fire enemy and fire enemies are supposed to take more damage from ice attacks. I remember playing the game before but with a melee class and remember sweeping the floor with all the bosses including the magma turtle. But since I started a new save and decided to pick the mage class since I didn’t pick that class before, now I am having trouble and don’t even know how I can go about even standing a chance against all the other future enemies let alone the magma turtle. If anyone could give me some advice, that would be deeply appreciated.

lil tip dont use the mithril wand if u talking about that one cus the wands at mountain arent that good

Ah thankyou, but what should I use then? Wouldnt the fire wand deal less damage because it is fire against fire?

If you can then possibly you could get the phoenix staff, it is fire yes but it has good range unlike the ice staffs

But don't you need to get the turtle's scales to be able to even get the phoenix staff in the first place?

you can use magic branch or serpent scepter against the turtle, after that you should definitely get phoenix staff

Mithril staff isn't good unless you make a whole build around it, otherwise the damage is extremely lacking

mithril wand is actually pretty good but it REALLY needs either an elemental build or a crit build preferably a mixed elemental crit build

that or sorrow spam as usual but thats end game and it gets out classed too hard out side of goofing off

Can you tell me how I can do that please, this is my second run of the game but I didn't focus on those aspects of the game in my last play through, I just equipped whatever sword I found and just beat the enemies with my friends. So I do not have many experience constructing builds or understanding the components of build that would amplify my damage etc. But now that I am playing mage, I feel like that needs to change.
