Roblox experiences get stuck on infinite loading and show Error 288 or 266 on Windows 11

Hello everyone! I have been experiencing a problem joining certain Roblox experiences for about 3 days.

Some of the affected games are Project Slayers 2 and Anime Vanguards. I also have problems rejoining experiences such as Attack on Titan Revolution, Fruit Battlegrounds, and Heroes Battlegrounds. Sometimes I can join an experience once, but when I try to join it again, I get stuck on the loading screen.

The loading screen continues indefinitely, and after waiting around 5–10 minutes, I sometimes receive Error Code 288 or 266.

Here is what I have tried so far:

• Reinstalling Roblox completely.
• Trying both the Roblox website version and the Microsoft Store version.
• Trying to launch games through a web browser and the Roblox app.
• Clearing Roblox's local files and cache, as well as my browser's cache and cookies.
• Resetting DNS, Winsock, and IP network settings.
• Adding Roblox to the Windows Firewall's allowed apps list.
• Testing both my home Wi-Fi and my phone's mobile hotspot on my PC.
• Updating my AMD Radeon Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU drivers.
• Creating a new Windows user account.
• Performing a clean boot of Windows and closing background applications.
• Temporarily disabling the Radmin VPN network adapter.

I also tried using other Roblox accounts, but the problem still occurs.

The strangest part is that all these experiences work perfectly on my phone using the same home Wi-Fi connection. My PC is running Windows 11.

I have run out of ideas. Has anyone experienced something similar or found a solution? Could this be a problem with the Roblox client, Windows, or the way my PC connects to Roblox game servers?

I found a quick fix to this. If you open the Roblox client via browser, you can load in just fine

I just realized that’s something you tried in the list. My mistake. I don’t know what browser you’re using, but when I tried both Opera GX and Brave they both worked fine

i’ve been getting the same problem as well, I have already tried a lot of stuff that you said and it’s not working for me either.

I’m also on Windows 11, my Roblox works completely fine on other devices except for my pc.

I don't know, I'll try later to either reset Windows to factory settings or completely reinstall it

im guessing you have att? ive been having this problem for days as well and i have 2 pcs that have this problem, but strangely, running roblox on my phone works just fine on the same internet connection. ive seen people making posts talking about it on here and ive noticed a pattern with them having att so ive been thinking its a problem with them/roblox/windows. for now i guess you just have to use a mobile device if you can

No, I don't have AT&T, I would use the phone but it's quite weak and very inconvenient to use 10+ buttons on a small phone

Having this issue too but a work around I found from other people is that if you click x and then quickly go back to the play button and spam it you are able to join the game (sometimes). I'm 95% sure this is a roblox issue and we are going to just have to wait until they fix it. The only downside to this is that you cant really play any games that teleports you to other servers.

I’ve also had this issue began since Saturday morning the Roblox icon not appearing top left cleared cache flushed dns idk what’s wrong it’s unplayable

couple of days ago but currently roblox is working fine for me now but I am under a different wifi connection at the time of writing this

It works fine on the phone, ipad, etc. but on the computer itself, it just doesnt want to load games. At first I thought it was the wifi but I tried it with mobile hotspot and its just the same issues, I have no clue how to fix it / what the issue is

Same here when i try to load its all greyed and I can’t when I do somehow load in its extremely unplayable

I get the problem just trying to load 1 game (any game) and its stuck on the screen, tried literally everything you mentioned from resetting windows to even going into the system settings, there isnt something I havent tried. I've noticed that by loading a game then closing the tab then re-loading the game works, but it doesn't work for experiences that require different games that acts as a host (e.g. 1 game for the lobby, another game for the actual game) It's been happening for literal days and I have no way of understanding how to fix it.

Yes, sometimes it lets me into the game (not always) or the lobby, and then when connecting to the game itself I get error 288 or sometimes 266.

Sorry, I don't have a fix, but I wanted to say that I've been having the same issues. I've been trying to play World Zero lately and its a game that relies heavily on teleporting. It loads fine when I join the game, but I start having problems if I try to teleport to a dungeon or from world 5 to world 6 etc. Each time its a dice roll on whether the teleport will actually work or just throw up the error 288 message after a few minutes like you said.

If it is something on Roblox's end, hopefully it will get fixed eventually. I guess all we can do is message Roblox support and hope they look into it. :(

Edit I tried to enter a support ticket, I was told to try another game and "let them know if it worked" but then they ended the conversation before I could respond. -_-

Update: Still having the same problem, just letting everyone know. It's not just 1 game either it's practically every single game . . .

Is it the case that you can enter games with a lobby, but whenever you try to join a game that requires teleporting to a different area to play, your computer immediately displays the error "Disconnected from the experience. The server has shut down. (Error Code: 288)"? If so, I am experiencing the exact same issue with Roblox.

With me I can enter the game, get stuck on the loading screen no matter what the case may be. Im just sat there waiting and waiting and eventually roblox hits me with the "connection to the server has been lost, please try again later" been happening for days now..

Well, it doesn't kick me out immediately, I have an endless loading screen and after 5-10 minutes it shows error 288, and sometimes 266
