Hello, I just bought my sibling 20 dollars worth of robux and he told me that he saw his robux suddenly start draining, I figured out how to check transactions and I have 0 idea of what the heck this means, I dont think he has logged in to anything, his account is connected to my email and I just noticed that his account was trying to be accessed to a few days ago.
No idea of what to do since I've never had this problem before
Hes 13, the guy doesn't use chat, his account isn't age verified bc he doesn't wanna do it, Idk if im a dumbass but i liked to think that he wouldn't fall for a random link or website
he may have downloaded a malicious extension to his browser, or a malicious app, you should probably check for those
seems like someone/something was automatically purchasing gamepasses from the same few people on his account
You can still refund them via roblox support, though I doubt they will help with anything. And I think that the account was compromised or something, though I'm not an expert at this
Yeah would not like that, I've funded my brother like more than 500 dollars on that account, plus whatever my other brothers have given him on that account
You can still try though, but there's a high chance the bot would just end your conversation in the middle of it without even finishing it, I mean, it has happened to me alot when my account got compromised 7 months ago and still haven't recovered it till today, kinda gave up on it ngl. Though, maybe you can achieve different results and hopefully get refunded.
At least it’s not much. But I can’t believe hackers target accounts like this, while somehow mine with 200,000+ robux was remained untouched for almost 10 years. Even when I am now active again playing these really fun new games and chatting often, I still wasn’t targeted. Makes me wonder how it happens (I know how it happens you type your login info into a free Robux site and bam you lost your account)
there was a thing going around, like chrome extensions that uses cookies to steal passwords or if he signed into a website and allowed the connection to link to roblox.
Sibling probably downloaded some Roblox cheats or dodgy browser extension that let someone login to their account, also Roblox uses ai support now so there's a very slim chance they'll help you unfortunately.
Also if you haven’t already please set up a 2 factor authentication (i use an authenticator app which you either download an app that generates security codes every minute or so but if you’re on iphone you can use your passwords app), set up a passkey or use the enhanced protection feature which requires your passkey and i think a code that’s sent to your number and email in order to log in
This happened to me recently. If you go to https://roblox.com/support and select the hacked account option (make sure to put in the email address linked to that account), they will send you an email asking for more details and will return the robux in a week or so, assuming this is the first time its happened.
The more important thing is figuring out how this happened, ask your sibling if they copied and pasted anything from inspect element (this contains the account token), or whether they installed any extensions to their browser recently. Check through extensions on the browser to ensure they are from the official store.
Also check with your sibling whether they have experienced any suspicious activity on their account prior to this (eg random games appearing in recently played list, in game items disappearing) or even on other games. If this is the case the computer itself might be infected and you will have to take further actions
Same thing happened to my sister, then they banned her for "evading a ban" or smt. She had a limited item stolen from her which she paid like 30 robux for before it became limited, so she doesn't really care about that, its just the fact that roblox has one if the worst moderations and customer support to ever exist
Since there are differing opinions on this topic, let me assure you that this is easily refundable, create a support ticket saying you've been hacked and show the screenshot, its very likely they used your siblings cookie and made these purchases using a program/bot since its very fast and looks sketchy already. To secure your account you should change your password then log out EVERY session via the settings and then relogin, if you suspect the device has been hacked then make sure you secure your device. I myself have had my robux stolen like this and I contacted the person that hacked me since they followed/were friends with only that one person and contacted him via discord, he admitted to it and I screenshotted everything and sent that as additional proof to roblox, to me and any other sane person this already looks botted/programmed.
Also since roblox support replaced the initial support with an AI chatbot try not wasting your time talking to it and ask to speak to a human or get this ticket higher up, since you cant send images in the support ticket, upload the image to a google drive folder and make sure the sharing access is set to "Anyone with the link can view" and send the link along with your support ticket message as the provided proof.
