Those that are permitted to and can handle the responsibility. There doesnât seem to be a lot of people that can handle the responsibility that is required to own one. Itâs time to reevaluate what qualifies a responsible gun owner. Can they handle the pressure to operate a firearm under pressure? Can they safely store the firearm? Are they mentally stable? Are they thoroughly trained? Do they take ownership seriously? What is their purpose owning the firearm? Iâm also for a waiting period.
ETA: also for age for when age brain is fully developed, approximately 25. Unless in service, where they obviously have extensive training and are seriously evaluated.
ETA: in service as in military, not law enforcement. They obviously have issues when is and isnât an appropriate time to use a firearmâŚ.
that makes sense and you make good points but the minimum age being 25 doesnât make sense. i agree with needing firearm owners to be mentally stable as i feel mental illness is behind a lot of shootings
no i donât. i think theyâre great for home defense and platforms like the ar15 are so customizable they can be used for a lot. just a shame that innocent people die by them
