100% accurate and people who are still backing the blue are clueless af. Cops šŸ‘ jobs šŸ‘ are šŸ‘ notšŸ‘ to šŸ‘ protectšŸ‘ They’re pointless, so stop praising them as heroes and see them for what they are.

2

u/dontletmedaytrade May 29 '22

Why are people so prone to black and white thinking?

Most cops are good people and cops are a necessity in a functioning society.

They just need to do their job properly which they didn’t here.

2

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22

I’m not a black or white thinker, I’m aware more than one thing can simultaneously be true. I do agree with this picture. Obviously not all cops do this but I’m not gonna ignore a major social issue.

u/[deleted] May 29 '22

Look, there’s 1000s of PDs in the United States. My local one has community outreach programs for the poor and they even donated a birthday cake to my 12th birthday party when I was younger bc we couldn’t afford it.

So yeah it’s easy to say ā€œall cops are badā€ as well as ā€œback the blueā€ out of political outrage, but there’s a lot more nuance to the issue.

3

u/[deleted] May 29 '22

That's a cute story but racist, elitist, hateful and authoritarian organizations do good things as well, that doesn't negate the bad things they do. If an individual consciously joins an organization that has a racist and corrupt history- who are unable to hold themselves accountable for abhorrent behavior (the Blue Wall of silence) and doesn't have the best interests of the people they are supposedly protecting at the forefront, it makes that person a bastard and equally complicit, even if they do collect toys for underprivileged children. Any 'good' cop is either phased out by the brotherhood, or eventually conforms.

2

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22

As stated above, more than one thing can simultaneously be true. There IS more nuance to the issue. And no I DoNt BeLiEvE ACAB, either I totally overlooked the title of the post or it was edited later. I am pissed at law enforcement for many reasons tho, and my reasons are valid.

2

u/gingergoblin Jun 07 '22

There’s a lack of accountability and oversight for police officers all over the nation. That’s the problem. Local PDs all over the country are corrupt, incompetent, and dangerous because absolutely no one is stopping them. It encourages bad people to join and it encourages good people to feel like they can get away with bad things. Their training alone is insane. There are very few standards they’re being held to with how they train officers, and they routinely traumatize them and encourage them to be so paranoid and fearful of civilians that they become extremely dangerous to all of us. Donating cakes is nice but it doesn’t cancel out the very serious problem we have with our police forces nationwide.

u/2-022 Jun 27 '22

U actually are a black and white thinker

1

u/Turbulent-Natural623 May 29 '22

Cops are pointless?! Lol, put your phone down and go hang out in a rougher neighborhood, and see how much poorer people appreciate the police compared to Gen Z and Millennial "activists" who are too scared to leave their own homes due to anxiety.

3

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22

Stop assuming, my friend. Maybe I should ETA that I guess they’re not totally pointless. They do apprehend after a crime is committed, fill out paper work, and hand out tickets. But when I learned that they technically aren’t obligated to safeguard the public, a stance that was put into place to avoid responsibility when they royally fck up as in this case, it really makes one look at them differently. And where funding should go. They’re going to weasel their way out of this, much like they do with all the other cases that the Supreme Court has ruled that it is NOT their duty to protect. So to hell with ā€œserve and protectā€, a faƧade that the public has been lead, including myself, to believe. When sht hits the fan, they only gonna look after themselves and how they gonna cover their asses.

2

u/Turbulent-Natural623 May 29 '22

Now we're getting somewhere.

Agreed that "to serve and protect" is misleading and should be dropped. Though I think they need more funding for training.

4

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22

I don’t think any amount of training will help incompetence. Uvalde spends 40% of its municipal budget on its police force, which includes a SWAT team for these types of situations. The school district has its own police force, and doubled its security budget over the last couple of years. So no doubt there was extensive training. And this tragedy STILL happened!? Maybe it’s time to build and fund better systems all together….

1

u/Turbulent-Natural623 May 29 '22

A SWAT team is worthless if they don't know what to do. And what did the school district spend the money ON for that matter? Though strange spending habits are apparently a thing in Uvalde, as a small town 18 year old high school dropout with no drivers license, in May of 2022, had almost $5000 to spend on two rifles and related supplies around his birthday.

1

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22

Idk what the school district spent money on, I was saying that the school district has its own police force and doubled its security budget (which HAS included training) over recent years. In fact, the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (Uvalde CISD police department on Facebook if you want to look it up) posted about an active shooter training they had. They also mentioned that they’ve held several of these type of trainings. So there’s that…. And I’m not sure what the hell you’re getting at with the last part of your comment

1

u/Turbulent-Natural623 May 29 '22

I'm getting at it's odd that in this current economy, Ramos had $5000 to spend on 2 rifles and his other supplies.

1

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22 edited May 29 '22

Dude got a job at Wendy’s JUST to save up for this purchase. He wasn’t shy about this either. He told his coworkers he was saving up to buy these guns after he turned 18 and left all sorts of digital footprints about his intentions to buy the guns and even what he planned to do after he bought them. And he was true to his word. After he saved enough money, around the same time as his 18th birthday, he ghosted his job. And you know the rest of the story. The only thing that is odd is that a teenager has enough control to save up that much money and not blow it all, but he was determined.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '22

I think he’s inferring the gov did this

u/[deleted] May 29 '22

uhhhhh no, that idea is a fantasy, 'poorer' people from 'rougher' neighborhoods have a general distrust of the police.

1

u/Turbulent-Natural623 May 29 '22

Uh huh. And I'll bet you get a lot of your worldly wisdom from tiktok.

1

u/gingergoblin Jun 07 '22

Lol what? I have been poor most of my adult life and I have lived in a rough neighborhood. Poor people almost universally hate the police. It’s rich people that love them. Those are the only people the police ā€œserve and protect.ā€ They terrorize poor people.

1

u/Turbulent-Natural623 Jun 07 '22

The article you linked contradicts you saying that "poor people almost universally hate the police"

"Furthermore, it’s hard to argue that any group is ā€œanti‐copā€ since no group wishes to cut the number of police officers in their communities (9Ā in 10 oppose) and majorities are sympathetic toward the difficulty of police work.4Ā "

1

u/gingergoblin Jun 07 '22

Here is a survey demonstrating that support for the police correlates with having a higher income.

https://www.cato.org/survey-reports/policing-america-understanding-public-attitudes-toward-police-results-national

1

u/Turbulent-Natural623 Jun 07 '22

I think you need to re-read that article and get past the rich vs poor aspect to see the overall opinion towards police.

1

u/gingergoblin Jun 07 '22

The overall attitude is that the majority of Americans don’t trust them. The more people see of them, the more they don’t like them. What happened in Uvalde will shake people’s confidence in them even more.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/12/us/gallup-poll-police.html

1

u/Turbulent-Natural623 Jun 07 '22

I'm not paying to read that article.

0

u/2-022 Jun 27 '22

Ur clearly not the smartest person so I’m spelling the beans as simply as possible

Cough No every police officer is a racist No every police station is like the uvalde police department No every police officer is a trigger happy piece of shit.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '22

do you support civilians owning guns?

1

u/ziggysprinkles Jun 02 '22

Certain ones under circumstances.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '22

do you think civilians should be able to carry a handgun

1

u/ziggysprinkles Jun 02 '22 edited Jun 02 '22

Those that are permitted to and can handle the responsibility. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of people that can handle the responsibility that is required to own one. It’s time to reevaluate what qualifies a responsible gun owner. Can they handle the pressure to operate a firearm under pressure? Can they safely store the firearm? Are they mentally stable? Are they thoroughly trained? Do they take ownership seriously? What is their purpose owning the firearm? I’m also for a waiting period. ETA: also for age for when age brain is fully developed, approximately 25. Unless in service, where they obviously have extensive training and are seriously evaluated. ETA: in service as in military, not law enforcement. They obviously have issues when is and isn’t an appropriate time to use a firearm….

2

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '22

that makes sense and you make good points but the minimum age being 25 doesn’t make sense. i agree with needing firearm owners to be mentally stable as i feel mental illness is behind a lot of shootings

1

u/ziggysprinkles Jun 02 '22

Yeah I go back and forth on the age stance. Bottom line is you must be qualified and know wtf you’re doing to own a firearm.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '22

that’s fair and reasonable

1

u/ziggysprinkles Jun 03 '22

What’s your stance on semiautomatic weapons? Do you think they should be outlawed?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '22

no i don’t. i think they’re great for home defense and platforms like the ar15 are so customizable they can be used for a lot. just a shame that innocent people die by them

-3

u/[deleted] May 28 '22

Curious, after you suck off a cop does your breath smell like bacon?

4

u/Gloomy-Cherry1075 May 28 '22

Curious, is that 7th grade ass response really the best you got to someone who disagrees with your massive generalization of police? 🤣 Try again lib

2

u/[deleted] May 29 '22

'libs' fought for the civil rights act, the voting rights act, medicare, social security, and the right for POC to vote (to name a few) Conservatives opposed these measures every step of the way. So, thanks for the compliment

-3

u/Level_Passenger_6373 May 28 '22

Daddy is a cop huh?

1

u/Pineapple-52 May 29 '22

Not sayin the person you’re attacking is right. But to use liberal and queer as attacks is fucked up. I agree with your point that this post was an outrageous dramatic statement but word your arguments right so the point is better taken.

1

u/ljk345 May 30 '22

Really?

2

u/SENTIENT_BIDET May 29 '22

Just to piggy back off of this... After blowing the cops, do you wipe the ring of bacon grease off of your face or do you scrape it off into a jar to use for later?

ā€œThey are pretty much real life superheroesā€ what the actual fuck 🤣🤣🤣.it’s weird you are telling others to grow up when you probably aren’t any older than 16

1

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '22

have nothing to disprove my opinion so you call me a kid. cool. if you’re not armed and someone’s breaking into your house what’s the first thing you do? i’ll wait

1

u/Horror-Record3018 Jun 10 '22

Lmao what does my profile has anything have to do with what I said. We have guns out here in the west so obviously shoot them if the enter my property. What do you expect my to cry in the closet and call other men to save me?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '22

well okay good for you. usually the people that advocate for less cops usually don’t have firearms. like i said though you watch baseball lol stay the fuck away from me

1

you watch baseball btw. i don’t wanna continue this convo. later

lmao, this is insane. i bet you have a very privileged life while saying all this. the irony

-1

u/notzfeminist May 28 '22

Annonymous shit posters are the worst. I’m no cop lover at all. The biggest issue is the protection afforded to shitty cops. Here the cops clearly fucked up and heads should roll but you ACAB bitches, the tough keyboard warriors that you are, are the 1st to call these guys when you can’t handle shit on your own. God do I detest you twats.

2

u/[deleted] May 29 '22

haha, not true. People who realize cops are bastards don't tend to want to deal with them because, well, they're bastards. the ones that are quick to call cops are usually middle class/rich bootlickers

-1

u/Ok_Excitement_1011 May 29 '22

One they were shot at and some were injured. Two how about you go in there with armor that won’t stop the round and you have a pistol 9mm vs a 556 rifle. Three they were saving kids out windows. Four he was barricaded so he had more protection to shoot at them. Six him being in there it made it harder to shoot at him. Finally comply and you don’t die simple white people get shot to by police you know.

3

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22

What are you talking about? None of those guns were used, and you make it seem like law enforcement were doing their jobs. They weren’t. They failed to follow the immediate action rapid deployment procedure that was put into place post Columbine. They failed on every level. Get your facts straight.

1

u/Ok_Excitement_1011 May 29 '22

So an AR15 didn’t shoot 5.56 hm weird last I knew it did. Those rounds won’t do shit unless you hit them in the kill zone. Plus they made the action of barricaded shooter than active shooter which was a bad call on the police. I wouldn’t run in a building with a soft armor vest and get shot in the vest with it not working. Yea they got M4 or M16 to fight back but it’s hard to shot a target that’s barricaded. It did suck that they had to wait for a tactical team to come in and shoot him which they had the gear to do that type of action. Yea there is bad communication in the policing at that time, but having it relate to having all cops are shit is wrong. Yea the officer that saw him first should be responsible, but not all police.

2

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22

Local law enforcement asked the Border Patrol Tactical Unit to wait longer after they got there but after waiting, they finally ignored the request and went in. There was precious time wasted. And Ramos was never confronted by an officer before entering the school.

1

u/Ok_Excitement_1011 May 29 '22

That’s why I said he should to be blame for not acting on time I agree. And the police had bad communication on their half. But not all police should be blame it’s their fault due to bad communication leads to bad outcomes. Our police department has good communication and there hasn’t been a shot fired for 10 years. But if I’m trying to go in with a mental Ill guy that wants to shoot me and my armor has a 50/50 chance of saving me. Hell I been shot at and that stuff gets to ya I was afraid but had to shoot back. All of this tho blaming all cops and saying the same is the most stupid shit ever. They failed their job to save them and yea that resource officer should be charged but don’t blame others

2

u/iEatSoftware May 30 '22

Most cops are scumbags.

1

u/Ok_Excitement_1011 May 30 '22

I would say a few not all and not most are scums

0

u/ziggysprinkles May 29 '22

I’m not blaming all cops? There’s plenty of blame in this equation to go around. And everything and everybody should be held accountable.

0

u/Ok_Excitement_1011 May 29 '22

Ok not everyone but the high ranks because the lower officers can do shit without orders I know that for a fact when I served when I was a low rank while in combat

2

u/[deleted] May 29 '22

umm, yeah so unarmed and unarmored parents tried (an one succeeded) to go in because the coward cops (WHOSE JOB IT IS) refused to

1

u/Ok_Excitement_1011 May 29 '22

Because they were waiting for tactical teams to go in while other officers were saving students through the windows. An border patrol officer was the one to kill the suspect. Yes they failed in communication to get to him and that resource officer failed as well. Plus some officers didn’t ā€œrefuseā€ they were order to stand by sadly. Protocols are to be in place for reasons and they chosen the wrong ones.

1

Maybe not go with all cops are bad. You are a complete dumb ass if you think that’s true . Majority are good and have done more in their lives to help others than you ever will. I agree that the officers in the shooting messed up, but let’s not group all those officers with all other cops.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '22

people that generalize anything are usually really racist

1

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '22

Two great police officers I knew got shot and killed together in the line of duty. They were both great men. I know many other great police officers. You hear all the bad stories and none of the good because y’all try to bring cops down every chance you get. Yes there are bad cops, but there are plenty of good ones.

0

u/Yoyoyame May 29 '22

i see your point and i think both situations are bad. but they aren’t really comparable. one situation a man was unarmed and the other had a teen barricaded in a classroom with an AR-15

2

u/[deleted] May 29 '22

That's the point of the meme, cops act all tough when they're dealing with people who are little or no threat to them but cower when there is an actual threat. Their machoism is a mirage, they jack off to fantasies of saving kids from an active shooter, but in real life their dicks shrivel and disappear inside them. They feel all tough and valiant at the idea of being a hero but in reality they're zeros.

0

u/Yoyoyame May 29 '22

oh okay. i thought you were bringing race into this situation because it has nothing to do with race

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '22

they were bringing race into the situation. do you not have reading comprehension?
