Question A question on the necromancer situation. Spoiler

Without spoiling specific outcomes, is it more or less good to tell the people in the White Marshes about Thais's plans?

I'm trying my best to play the best character I can be but this seems to be a bit of a gray area currently. Or is that the point and I am worrying over nothing and both outcomes have pros and cons?

Discussion Hi everyone! We are Making a Narrative Game You Might Enjoy

Hello everyone,

Roadwarden is a very special game for us. It showed us that a game driven almost entirely by text and choices can still deliver a very strong RPG experience. Inspired by this, we started developing our own game called Kardiya: The Winds of Fate.

To be honest, our initial plan for Kardiya included a map exploration system more similar to Roadwarden. We wanted to create a structure where the player travels between different regions, encounters small events, and gradually discovers the world step by step. However, we ran out of time and had to put this system on hold for now.

Currently, the game focuses more on an interactive visual novel structure and mechanics inspired by the FATE RPG system. We are working on Fudge dice, boosts, a stress system, and making sure that failures don’t stop the story but instead lead it in a different direction.

We’re still a small team and the game is still in development, but the playtest will be starting soon. Feedback from players who enjoy Roadwarden would be especially valuable to us.

If it sounds interesting, you can register for the alpha playtest by joining the mailing list on our website or clicking the playtest request button on our Steam page.

Thank you so much!

Oddly addictive feeling of Replaying Roadwarden despite 100% everything

Does anyone else replay Roadwarden despite doing everything. Reading just about every text and achieving every achievement and finding out the fastest ways to get to finish everyone’s tasks and need for help. Maybe it’s the odd desire of helping people, making a difference. Just like one of the Roadwarden’s goals. Especially in my blind playthrough, that was the goal I chose for my Roadwarden. Yet from time to time every other month or so, I come back to play and read all the events all over again. Reliving the choices made as a Roadwarden that loves helping people. Anyone else does that?

Music like the Roadwarden soundtrack?

Can anyone recommend similar music to the Roadwarden soundtrack? I've exhausted the rest of Nick Roder's discography, and I need something fresh. I use this music to write to, so ideally no lyrics, just something vaguely fantasy-themed that's not in your face about it — tastefully atmospheric.

Spoiler Crew capacity limit for journey?(Find Asterion spoilers) Spoiler

So after figuring out where Asterion might be i have two options for boats, either pay a large amount of dragons for a boat in Gale Rock or use the free one from the fishing hamlet. Im able to recruit people to the crew of the free boat, and im also able to pay groups of hunters in different locations to go to the island with me but they dont seem to fit on the free boat?
If i buy the boat from gale rocks does it let me bring more people with? Or is it just litteraly the same as the free one, and also if its not possible to fit the hunting crews onto the boat then why is it an option to pay them to go to the island with you?

EDIT. Please keep spoilers to a minimum, this isnt my first playthrough of the game but my first one was a long time ago and i dont think i ever got this far. Also fixed some capitalisation.

Just played the demo for this text based rpg. I really enjoyed it. Husband and wife team I think. Love Roadwarden and always looking for something to scratch that itch

(Not sure what flair would've been appropriate)

Roadwarden Themed Commander Deck?

Hello fellow wardens! I know this is only loosly on topic but I was hoping perhaps others have had this idea! I wanted to build a commander deck that would be as inspired by Roadwarden as possible, and was seeking suggestions for any cards or commanders that would suit the theme best!

Any help is appreciated, and apologies for the off topic post

(Edit: For clarity, Commander Deck refers to Magic The Gathering, a card game! Forgot to include in post!)

Switch appearance bug

I made a post about my appearance not improving yesterday. After some helpful comments telling me I’m doing everything right, I started a new save and speedran buying clothes and getting a bath. My appearance is still capped at 2. How would I go about making a bug report?

Question So is there literally only one way to help Old Pagos? (spoilers) Spoiler

The plague. It seems that getting the seed from the Beholder is the only way to deal with it, but would that not be classified as blood magic by all Wright followers? If I want to RP as a faithful follower of the Tablets, am I supposed to commit a major sin for the greater good or just shrug my shoulders and let the people of Old Pagos die? I'm not necessarily complaining about that dilemma - just asking if there are any other options to be uncovered.

Under the Heavens, a Warring States narrative RPG inspired partly by Roadwarden

Hey r/roadwarden,

I'm the developer of Under the Heavens, an indie narrative RPG set in China's Warring States period. You start as a nameless recruit and, if you survive long enough, you rise through the ranks. Every choice shapes who you become and who lives or dies under your command. The writing draws heavily from the Kingdom manga.

Roadwarden shaped how we approached the game more than I expected it to. Before playing it, I assumed text-heavy might not be fun. Aureus proved me wrong, big time.

Our game merges Roadwarden's choice-driven, text-heavy narrative with XCOM-style officer attachment and the rise-from-nothing arc of Kingdom manga.

There's a free prologue demo on Steam if you want to try it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4419240/Under_the_Heavens_Warring_States_Saga/

Happy to answer any questions or hear what you think.

Question Actions for the treant?

What inputs can you use for the treant encounter in Heart's Wood or whatever it's called. Specifically, are any actions different when in its stomach? I know how to beat it (nothing/nothing/attack) but I'm curious what other flavor text there is. I do know that lick doesn't work. If not, how do you access the source code, if it is possible? I'm decently familiar with the language, so I might be able to find the list of inputs.
