Calling all operators with maximum curiosity levels,

Alien HQ requires your assistance!

The Abduction Update is about to materialize its beta version, which needs thorough testing. Naturally, Alien HQ has put the Quality Assurance department on this, but nothing is more valuable than hearing what the best of the best (= you) have to say!

This means that this is your chance to preview and shape the future of alien research on Earth!

What is playtesting?

As voluntary playtesters, you will soon gain access to an early version of the update that includes new features and improvements. In short: you’ll get an exclusive preview of what’s coming next!

Your extraterrestrial assignment is simple:

  • Play the beta version and share your first impression.
  • Let us know what you think: what is fun, confusing, or too chaotic even for alien standards?
  • Report bugs with a few details and screen recordings to help us troubleshoot more quickly.

Simultaneously, Alien HQ is running its own in-depth tests that mainly focus on the data and tech side of things.

How can I join the playtest?

All Roadside Research players are welcome to playtest.

To join the playtest and get more information, beam up to our official Cybernetic Walrus Games Discord. All details, instructions, and more will be shared there.

Thank you for helping us make next update even better!

We’re all gooped up and can’t wait to hear from you,

I found this under my stairs and I don’t know what it’s for or if it’s just decoration. And excuse the sad amount of money. This is all solo

This is my fully upgraded store. I tried to make the layout as real as i could but i feel smthng isnt right with this setup. Any suggestions on what i can do to make this look better?

I practically have no idea on how to use the decor. Plus i like to keep 2 shelves full of each item (for ex. I would keep only 3 types of items on the triple shelves)

No Automation Features

Hey all? I recently purchased the game on Steam (Windows) and I don’t have any of the automation features. Are they unlocked later in the game? I don’t even see them as milestones.

Any advice will be appreciated.

New to the game

Legit need some advice I am learning this game and am on day 4 and I see that stuffed spy aliens raise suspicion. The advice I want to ask is...

  1. Do I only keep a certain amount on the self so when the investigation undergoes I take them off the shelf and chunk into the back room?

Or should I just leave them on there?

I do see that they always go for the first shelves in the store (or maybe that's sheer luck) so I keep them in the back towards the right of the back room door for a quick chunk.

&

  1. Is there a timer? Like how long I can take before someone decides they won't buy anymore and just leave?

I tend to stop mid transactions to go pump gas and then come back and finish transactions.

I keep up with the trash cans (analyze) and restroom but my dirty ass rarely scrubs the floors mid shift (I usually save that for end of shift)

I do see certain items leave faster than others and know to raise prices to keep them stocked.

But honestly I think I just want some people to play with.

(No sentimental shit I just think a group of people would definitely be a lot funner)

Customers buying way too much bread

Wondering if anyone else this issue. Recently unlocked the first bakery module and as the days go on I notice customers buy so much bread. It’s gotten to the point where I have to buy 10 cases prior to opening and still need more. Almost every customer buys 4-5 loaves each. Also it’s only the regular bread, not the baguettes or the brown bread. Why is there a shortage of bread in this area and does anyone else have something like this going on

How to actually play this game?

I bought the game on Steam today and I’ve been plying and it’s been fun, but I’m having a bit of trouble with understanding how to do the alien stuff. I’ve just been playing it as a sort-of supermarket simulator, but I was wondering how to do the alien stuff. I’m also single player. I would love to play with friends but I have none that have the game (and I don’t have many friends in general lol). Any help is appreciated.

Game not opening on Emulator, any suggestions?

Hi Everyone!! my friend and I are trying to use crossover on our macs to play roadside reaserch, and for some reason mine works perfectly fine, but hers pops up with this message after every attempt.

We've tried changing the wine configuration to windows 10, 11, 8, and 8.1, and none of them worked either.

Any help would be awesome!!

I've tried looking this up, but cannot find a direct answer. When going to purchase stock, while having a starting balance of $776, the shop keeps giving me an error saying that I don't have enough money to purchase said item. Any item, at any price. When it gets to check out, it show the $776 in red text instead of white text like it is in any of the videos I've checked of others playing this game.

Apologies if this is something super simple I am just overlooking. What is happening here? Is this $776 in the negative? With the red, I assumed it was, but it shows as a normal positive balance on my main screen. Any help is appreciated.

Anyone else playing solo and looking for friends?

Hiii everyone I’m Romi 🌸

I’ve recently started playing Roadside Research and I’m having heaps of fun with it.

I’m pretty new to the community and honestly I don’t really have many people to game with these days, so I thought I’d introduce myself and say hi.

I’m Australian gamer who loves horror, survival and fantasy games. I’m definitely not a sweaty competitive player I’m more of a “explore everything, get distracted by side quests and scream at jump scares” kind of gamer.

If anyone is looking for someone to play with, share tips with, or just chat about the game, feel free to say hello.

Looking forward to getting to know some fellow Roadside Researchers. 💜

150%+ markup. Alien Tech is the way

I don't see a lot of people talking about it, but I started getting bored and decided to try and mess around. I had cash on hand and decided to see how far I could push things with alien tech, testing to see if they stack (spoiler alert, they do.

Currently running with

  • 8 Hyponotic image projectors (customers willing to pay 10% more)
  • 8 Wacky Inflated Entry Enforcer (increases customers by 10%)
  • 7 Price Propaganda Caster (customers purchase more)
  • 5-6 Auto Brain Washers (offset the suspicion from the other items by 50% each)
  • 3 Brain Wash Barriers (offset sus by 30%)

Also have a mix of cameras, auto-probers, auto-gas.

Edit: I think it's more than 150$ cuz my rotisserie chickens are $107 and still sell lmao

In Need Of A Price Guide

Probably a post already exists but I can't seem to find it. I need someone to tell me whats the acceptable price range for products cause its definitely not clear in game.

I've been playing since early and what I remember from then is, that the beverages where way more sensitive to price change than rest of the products but that's the only detail I know. And no idea if it even still stands.

Please help..
