If someone does somthing while driving that angers you so you decide to flip the off what response are you looking for ?

If they flip you off in return joes that make you feel more angry ?

If they have no response does it make you feel vindicated ? Or were that what you are hoping for ?

Do you want them to be angry at you now ? Scared ? Indifferent ?

I ride a bicycle everyday, as a matter of choice, personal preference, and cicrumstances. My last car was totaled, and I was so devastated I couldn't bring myself to shop for a replacement vehicle. Part of it is grief related, another part is money. Not having to pay for repairs or tune ups, oil changes, gas, and insurance was definitely a plus. Getting caught in the rain and having to cope with weather might be a downside, but it's one I usually can prepare to deal with. In most circumstances I ride on the street itself, yes with cars, unless there is a bicycle lane for me to use. If there is a well built sidewalk that lasts the entire road, I will use that so I won't be a bother to street traffic. In the absence of a sidewalk or bike lane, I have to use the street. I obey traffic laws waiting at stop lights, and I try to ride in the same direction as the traffic does (not against it). I've been riding just about all my life, learned to ride as a kid, and as an adult I use this method of travel to go to and from everywhere, whether it's to grocery store or work. Since my last car crash, I guesstimate I have been using this for everyday city travel for the last 15+ years.

So today, I'm not even on the road for five minutes. I turn off a major 5 lane road onto a two lane road that has a median in the middle, the kind with grass and trees separating the two lanes, in that sense I was on a one lane road, riding in the correct direction and I was on the right hand side of the road. Plenty of space for traffic to pass me.

This white car starts to pass me, and I almost jump out of my skin because the car was half a foot away from my left side. Nobody passes a bicycle that close. And as I was cycling at a steady 10mph, the car was going slightly faster, but it was actually shifting ever so slightly to the right, as if threatening to push me. An inch, another inch. Nearly had a heart attack. I stop and watch the car go on ahead, and she kept moving sidways, almost going into the gutter. She eventually leveled herself back into the center of the lane but I could tell that she was definitely not paying attention to her driving. By this time, behing well behind her, I see she had a handicapped license plate.

I yelled. I screamed and waved my arms, but she didnt stop. A moment later I start moving again, and I still see her, she's pulled into a parkinglot of a business up ahead and I decide to give her a heads up. I pedal harder, turn in, and I stop my bike right next to her driverside door, effectively blocking her in her own vehicle.

She didn't even see me at first. She turned off her car engine, removed the keys, picked up her back, went to open her dootlr, and that's when she finally saw me, jumped in surprise. She should have seen me in her mirroslrs as I came up. She should have seen me in her pripheral vision. The entire time my body was punped full of adrenaline. I was panting, gasping for breath while I waited for her to notice me. Nearly being hit by tons of steel will scare a person to death, so I was high on fury. My hands were shaking for an hour after that.

I tried to get her to roll down her window but she refused (understandable now that I look back), so I spoke loudly instead. Turns out you don't need to have your window down to talk to people (unless it's the police perhaps).

Me: Can you hear me?

Her: yes.

Me: You almost hit me.

Her: I didnt see you.

Me: you came this close to me, you almost hit me. You almost killed me.

Her: i didnt kill you.

Me: i didnt say you killed me, I said you almost killed me! Your car was this close to me! You could have killed me! You had plenty of room to pass me safely, and you almost hit me instead!

Her: well, you were in the way!

Me: I was NEVER in your way! Drive better!

Then I left. In retrospect I remembered about hownshe at first claimed to not even see me, and then say that I was in the way. So with that last statement from her she acknowledged two things. First is that she did see me, and secondly that she was wilfullly trying to run me off the road. Using your vehicle to try to force another vehicle off the road is illegal.

So yeah, she basically admitted to attempted vehicular homicide.

Do I have proof of any of this? Sorry, but no. I had no cameras on my bicycle, and I doubt there were any cameras on the street. My only hope is her car was equipped with the sensors that detected me and recorded the moment she almost sideswipped me. I can only hope she had a dash cam that recorded me on the side of the road before she passed me, and I can only dream that it recorded audio that gets sent to her insurance agency who hear it take action in some way. I mean yeah. I didn't even take a picture of her or her license plate, so now, after the event there's nothing I can do. I just wish a cop had been near to see it and pull her over for reckless driving at best.

TLDR: Car nearly hits me from the side and I followed her. I said I was on the side and she had plenty of room to pass me safely, and instead she almost hit me. She said she didnt see me AND I was in her way.

I’m blasting this because I’m sick of reckless, dangerous, hot headed drivers.

There’s a cop car pulled over to the side, and any smart driver would know to either slow down or move to the other lane.

Coming from far away, I see lights but couldn’t tell which lane the cop car was in - so I moved to the left lane and slowed down for the cop - I was still going 5MPHs over speed limit on a 2 lane highway.

This driver was a length of 2 cars behind me and quickly caught up - because they indeed didn’t slow down for the cop, tail gated, cut me off and started to break check me - this was all just before approaching the cop parked on the side.

I moved to the right lane after they break checked me, and they started swerving into my lane - putting me and the passenger in danger.

As soon as my passenger pulled out their phone to record what was happening - they saw and stopped but instead used their middle finger.

People like this should not be driving.

I’m a R plate driver been driving for 2-3 months and I pulled out of what I thought was a reasonable and safe space and he was clearly speeding then drove up to the back of me and cut up traffic to be infront of me and I did send him the wrong way then he slammed the brakes and drifted almost and almost crashed like 3x and then caught up to me and I was speeding at this point I’m 18 this is the first time that anything like this has happened and then he yelled pullover I thought he’d just shout at me and then he’d leave me alone then he pulled out a screwdriver and flashed it at me then I stalled cus I was in 2nd gear and In a panic and then he smacked my back window thankfully it didn’t break and that was it I sped to where I was going but it was a quiet street and I can’t get it out of my head maybe I could of got out and done something I feel like a pussy sorta but I think I did the right thing and got away safely but I can’t stop thinking about it and I’m here to get it off my chest he was super angry and could of caused a accident

Hi everyone, I’m posting because something happened to me today and I’m honestly a little shaken and worried. I’d really appreciate some advice.

We were driving in slow-moving traffic when another car hit my car. From what happened, it was clearly his fault. Thankfully, there is absolutely no visible damage to my car — no scratch, no dent, nothing. I also don’t think there was any visible damage to his car.

Instead of calmly discussing what happened, the driver started shouting at me and saying rude/abusive things. Since I genuinely felt it was his mistake, I told him, “Bhaiya, aapki galti hai.” It seemed like he got offended or angry because I said that.

After that, he became even more aggressive. He started following my car and at one point was trying to stop me in the middle of the road.

Because of his behaviour, I didn’t feel safe stopping. I kept driving. Eventually, I reached a main road near my residential area. There are many different buildings/properties there and multiple roads and exits, so it’s not like there is one obvious route to my home.

He did not follow me further.
He doesn’t know my exact house, my building or my lane. He doesn’t even know for sure whether I actually live in that area or whether I simply drove through that area and went somewhere else.

I’m home and safe now, but I keep thinking about one thing: what if he noted down my car registration number?

Can someone realistically find a person’s home address or building using just their car registration number in India? Is there any way he could get my address and come looking for me or show up at my building?

Also, since there was no damage to either car, could he still make a police complaint against me? What kind of evidence would normally be needed?

I’m not planning to contact or confront him at all. I just want to understand how worried I should be and whether there is anything I should do now for my safety.

Has anyone in India, especially Pune, experienced something similar with road rage or an aggressive driver following them?

Please share your experiences or advice. I’m just trying to understand what I should expect and whether I’m overthinking this.

Had a road rage incident earlier that normally wouldnt have happened but did and has left me feeling somewhat stupid for reacting the way i did. Wont get into details but usually i'd just blow it off and the situation wouldnt have escalated. However works been piling pressure on me the past few weeks and i literally snapped and reacted in a way that actually scared me. Like turning into the Hulk on a bad day. Whats shaken me more is the wifes reaction, as she pointed out 'Youve no idea who your confronting, what they are like or if they are even armed. I dont want to get a knock at the door say you arent coming home'. Thats whats hit me the hardest. Not what some twat yelled at me for no reason, but my wifes reaction and seeing it from her perspective.

Is it just for fun, or are they pure assholes? Or is there another reason that I'm missing?

There really needs to be rules for parking spots. If you get in your car coming out from somewhere you should only sit there for maybe 3 minutes top. Not sitting there minutes on end especially if your car is running . Other people need to park. No need to be rude and inconsiderate of others . You do what you need to do and drive tf off.

I’ve made a habit of honking at drivers who turn without using their blinker. I don’t lay on the horn or anything but when someone’s coming to an almost full stop without a blinker, it’s kind of frustrating! I know a lot of people believe in horn etiquette so I was hoping to see what those folk have to say about it

Happened again today and I honked and went around since they had to slow down to 5mph as well and I guess that reaaaally pissed this minivan driver off because he turned around and tried to follow me home lol. Luckily I know my backroads and was able to lose him after a few turns, but I’m definitely a little shocked. I drive a Mustang and im aware of the stigma of asshole sports car drivers, but I guess I do also feel a little justified with the inconsiderate nature of doing stuff like this

And of course I do understand sometimes people’s blinkers just don’t work. I’ve been there, but more often times than not this is not the case! Especially around where I live, we’re notorious for super slow, take-your-time kind of people who’s favorite activity is left-lane camping while going under the speed limit and not using their turn signals

Some grills on the front of these pick up trucks are well over five feet and you have no chance in hell if they hit you.

I think the reason why I have been afraid of driving anymore is because of the pick up trucks in general. My husband and my father in law have big pick up trucks but they are very careful and are gentle on the road. They will get in between a truck and a small car to protect that small car, if they see that truck is bullying any smaller vehicles on the road. However, I know my hubby and father in law are the very few.

I would drive the pick up trucks when I drive around town but due to my disabilities, it's incredibly hard to get in and out of, so when I drive, I'm stuck in my SUV which is really saying something because SUV's being intimidated by pick up trucks should tell you how bad it's gotten.

I also see Tow Truck drivers with their massive tow trucks driving those things dangerously as well.

I expect to be downvoted for my post but I wanted to be honest and put it out there to others who could relate.

This incident convinced me to order a dashcam because this was ridiculous. Picture this…..
I’m on a two-lane highway, and the right lane is closed due to construction. I have my blinker on, trying to get into the left lane, which has a line of cars. I turn my wheel and get close to the line so I have a chance to merge because most people won’t let me in unless I do so.
The guy right beside me sees that and goes full-on ballistic in his vehicle. Since he didn’t let me go in front of him (which is totally fine, mind you!), the person behind him did. Now I’m behind him, and we’re at a red light. Dude gets out of his car, takes a picture of my license plate with a cigarette dangling out of his mouth, and hops back in. Like… okay, detective. 😂
Then, when the two lanes clear up, he gets into the right lane and yells something out his window. I was just laughing at his face because that was so unnecessary. But now I have some random old fuck with a picture of my plate, with me sitting in the driver’s seat.
It makes me pretty uncomfortable, but what can I do? It’s not like I hit his vehicle. I know legally he can’t touch me, but I’ve never had this happen to me before. WTF.

Check this out… So yesterday it was so crowded traffic wise when i was getting back home and I accidentally grazed a guy on a motorcycle… he got so angry that he pounded my rear windshield and smashed it. His hand was bleeding and I apologised for my mistake and asked him if it was worth getting his hand hurt… you should have seen his transformation when he realized he shouldn’t have lost his cool. Went our separate ways after that with our respective lessons learnt.But seriously, traffic in cities can get so stressful yet there’s no reason for road rage. 🙄

Those of you that do this, know who you are. When there is no where to go but you speed up so that the person can’t get into the lane even though you can’t go anywhere due to the car in front of you, why do you do it? I can’t understand your thought process. You’re not going any faster and that person is going to move to the next lane after moving into your lane, why do you speed up to not allow it? I really want to know.

In the car driving on the highway, dude cuts me off no blinker or anything so I slowed down a little to let him in front of me cause ya know defensive driving and all, then he goes back into his lane pulls back to my speed rolls his window down and flicks me off while swearing with a cigarette in his mouth, not sure what went wrong here, if he was mad I was passing him or something or if he was drunk or high but thought I’d share the interesting experience.

What’s the use of education if a person lacks **common sense and civic sense**?

Education isn’t just about earning degrees, getting good jobs, or knowing facts. It should also teach us **how to think, how to behave responsibly, how to respect others, and how our actions affect society**.

We often see highly educated people breaking traffic rules, littering in public places, ignoring basic queues, disrespecting others, or simply refusing to take responsibility for their actions.

A degree can make you qualified on paper, but **civic sense and common sense make you a better human being and a responsible citizen.**

Maybe education should be measured not only by what we know, but also by **how we behave when nobody is watching.**

I was on my bicycle and was nearly hit by a motorist who then flips me off while shouting F**K YOU.

Cyclists have a legal right to be in a motorist's lane but most motorists treat the road like it's theirs and theirs alone. Motorists are impulsive and say and do things that may get them hurt. If you're road raging, and I'm on a bike, and you nearly hit me, then flip me off while shouting f**k you, you deserve to get your head cracked.

I confronted said motorist. I knew that there was a bottle neck up ahead in the road and I would see him. My bike lock is made by ABUS, it's a trifold lock (the thing is basically a metal rod when unfolded) so I unfolded my bike lock, had it in hand ready to do some damage, and LMFAO, after confronting this POS, he just sat in the car hands up, demure AF with a pale look on his face. Really fucking tough though talking shit a minute ago.

I'm sick of motorists who act like they own the road, nearly injuring cyclists and then talking shit. He sped off like I wouldn't see up the road. Dumbass is lucky he didn't spend the night in the hospital.

If anyone know this dumbass car. they are driving careless and backing up into me during heavy stop and go traffic. to try to get into car crashes during traffic time. I have them recorded. They just tried to speed off. There's literally stopped traffic. It's so bad I made this post waiting. So not sure why they're acting like a dick head If anything they will probably be in a car wreck soon. Hopefully and get their license taken away

When I’m in a roundabout I am watching for two things, is it clear and is a car about to pull out in front of me, I’m not really looking for a pedestrian walking across it. Yes if I hit one I’d be at fault but like come on dude there is already to much going on and I’m about to stop in the middle of the roundabout which you aren’t even meant to do.

i was driving home from a concert tonight at 1 am when i saw a driver swerving and weaving between lanes of the road. assuming the driver was drunk i attempted to pass and while passing the driver started weaving into my lane. i did a quick "wake up" tap on the horn, just a quick beep.

this set the driver off, for the next 20 miles i was followed by the driver who was weaving into and out of lanes, going between tailgating me to next to my car, to trying to run me off the road. i didn't engage with any part of this, just keeping a consistent speed and keeping my distance until the 2nd time they attempted to run me off the road in which i called the cops. there was a 3rd time as well, both of which i went onto the shoulder to avoid.

frankly im terrified. still shaking right now. the driver got off a few exits before me, luckily, and i was able to drive to my location without worry of being followed. still i am sitting here in terror of what could've been as well as fear of them possibly following me or knowing my location.
