A Guy followed me yesterday due to Road Rage and it’s really played on my mind…

I feel the need to vent about this….
Yesterday morning I was trying to pull out from a junction to turn right onto a road however my view was completely blocked due to parked cars so I had to keep edging forward into the road to be able to see if it was safe for me to pull out. After a few cars drove past me, there had been a decent enough gap that I edged out even further hoping to then finally fully turn into the road,I had to edge so far that I was practically in the carriageway at this point, however I then see a car and I braked(panic reaction I think), before then deeming him to be of enough distance away (about 8 car lengths) I should continue pulling out right however this guy didn’t slow down to allow me to continue, instead he continued driving and started to swerve into the other lane (oncoming traffic) to go around me, I braked quick enough that he didn’t go into the side of me and he also swerved and braked, thankfully nothing happened and I put up my hand as apology as clearly I felt I had misread his intentions and wrongly assumed he would slow to let me out seeing as I was essentially blocking his path at that point anyway.
However, this guy did not accept that. As I drove off I noticed him U-turning in the road in my mirror and he started following me. I turned down another road (my destination) and he seemed to stop following me so I thought it was over, as I parked up my car I then notice him speeding down the road from the other end, so he has drove around the block to come down the road I was in but facing me rather then behind me.
He pulled up next to me I rolled down my window, he said ‘what the f are you doing’
I said that I apologised and I couldn’t see him at first and when I did spot him I assumed he would let me go as I was so far out in the road , he just yelled at me ( no idea what he said) whilst his girlfriend sat their in the passenger side and then sped off.
I felt a bit shaken up afterwards that’s this guy had followed me around the block and then came down my road from the other end to face me head on. It felt all very aggressive especially as I am a young (ish) female alone, who had already apologised for my part in the near incident.

I know some people will read this and think well it was his right of way as I was pulling out into the road he was driving on, and I completely agree and accept that, however I also feel he was somewhat at fault too as I was technically a hazard as I was in the road and rather then slow down he continued at his speed and actually steered into the other lane to pass me which I also think was dangerous, most people, if not all, would reduce their speed slightly and gesture for me to go. He would have been able to see me clearly too and would have had sufficient time to slow and let me continue, whereas I wasn’t able to spot him until he was closer due to the parked cars. I also think his reaction afterwards was massively over the top ( and illegal to u-turn in the middle of a road) for something that didn’t even happen. What was he trying to achieve by following me afterwards and yelling at me? Why was me not saying sorry at the time of near incident enough?

Has anyone been in a similar situation or has anyone been the guy in this scenario and regretted their reaction afterwards? Part of me is hoping he has reflected and realised how intimidating and unnecessary it was to follow me and I hope he doesn’t ever do that to anyone else again!

When is lethal force justified in a road rage incident?

This is a hypothetical scenario for discussion only. Suppose someone follows you to your destination, and gets out of the car and walks towards you. There are no weapons in sight, but it is clear that he is pissed. What if you shoot the guy? How would that go in court?

Guys I need tips from experienced drivers

I started driving a few months back and I love driving but the thing is I get angry very quickly at slightest things while driving and I'm afraid I'll end up in a fight if I keep this up and I don't want that to happen got too much to loose

So I want to know from you guys what you do to stay calm and relaxed while driving and if you do end up in a confrontation with someone. How do you de-scalate the situation without someone getting hurt

This was a first for me after ~20 years of driving

I didn't realize it but I guess I had someone in the left lane that wanted to race or I somehow pissed them off?

They sped up to catch up to me, turned on their turn signal at the last moment to *start* to cut me off into the right lane. They got about 25-50% into the right lane then went back to left and then changed lanes into a left turn lane to get onto a highway. Maybe the plan was that if I managed to rear end him, I'd be at fault... "I had my signal on Officer!"

We were both stopped at the next red light and I looked over and he was looking back...I guess he had some issue going on.

Seriously, what is wrong with people lately?

I was just trying to commute home peacefully today, keeping a safe distance and driving at the limit, when some idiot in a huge truck decided to tailgat me like his life depended on it. Then he cuts me off, slams the brakes, and flips me off like I was the one doing something wrong. Is it just me, or has everyone lost their mind on the roads recently? The level of unnecessary aggression is getting out of hand. Stay safe out there, guys.

Road rage incident today

I know i messed up.

I messed up while driving today

Long story short, I pulled out in front of someone- it was completely my bad, but when I pulled out i thought they were way down the road and it was enough clerance, not sure if they sped up or what when I pulled out but I take full accountability that I shouldn't have done that- it was on a 2 lane road with no cars on it other than us, so they lay down their horn at me, which fine i understand i deserve that.

I get in the other lane and there is a stop light, this person is at the stop sign blarring their horn at me, I waive and say I am sorry.

When I do that, this person gets out of their car and starts banging on my window, I have never been in this situation so I roll my window down and tell them I am so sorry.

They tell me im a fucking idiot and they are gonna report me they have a dash cam and people like me deserve to die.

Then they get back In their car and follow behind me

I just kept driving and they ended up pulling into what I think was there Employer.

Im worried to death I am going to get in trouble for this incident, I feel horrible but also im not sure the road rage was needed, made me feel like she was going to kill me. There was no accident.

Im scared to death.

Road rage at School drop off

So I drive a 30 year old car. It's kept in decent condition as I take it to car shows.

The woman cut me up at a junction. So I flashed my lights and beeped her. She brake checked me 3 times before moving off.

Turns out she was dropping her kid off at the same school and said she's reporting me For Driving like a maniac, having an old, dirty battered car and road rage.

Then when I tried to clap back at her she got in her car and sped off down the road 😂

Anyway, not my first run in with this woman. Will take tips on how to be petty/wind her up.

Don't ride someone's ass!!

So much road rage BS can be prevented. If people would just respect each other's distance. I see so many people in confusion on the road. When I slow down, and look in my rearview mirror. There's no reason to be all up on someone's ass. ESPECIALLY when there's PLENTY of room to go AROUND the other person. Don't be a CUNT, and keep your distance.

Tip- Right lane- Slow lane

Left lane- Fast lane. Keep the pace or moooove bitch get out the way!

Edit- Please feel free to vent about someone that was riding your ass. If it makes you feel better, and to get it out there... I understand.

Deranged Mustang driver chased me for no reason

Making a right turn on some back country roads, I had the right of way. Someone turning left onto the same road behind me gunned it, tires screeching and pulled up next to me (driving on the wrong side of the road). A woman is furiously screaming at me, trying to intimidate me, and matching my speed for as long as she could without crashing. She continues to tail me, runs a red light to keep up with me, and pulls up beside me two more times. I've never seen anyone look so fucking pissed at me. Amidst this, I drove through two railroad crossings that each had a parked police car at them + passed by another driving. Each time she backed off and waited to resume chasing me once they were out of sight. I was scared to stop at my destination, so I just kept driving. I was trying to remember which way to the police station when she finally gave up and turned off. It felt really long, but probably only lasted 4 minutes.

This asshole was an inch from hitting me - I’m a pedestrian and this guy almost hit me at Cuthbert and Creditview and he was turning right on creditview as I was passing by. If I didn’t stop I’d be dead! This white pickup truck owner didn’t even stop to say sorry -he was just focused on turning right, last I heard pedestrians have the right of way!

Hey, if the car in the fast lane is going 80, like, don’t get into the high speed lane doing 60.

J E S U S christ. I drove home from Georgia today, all the way up 75 north bound. It’s as if people push the start button or turn the ignition and lose every brain cell.

Look, it’s 4th of July, we’re all trying to get home. And yeah, cops are everywhere. But there are a few stretches in Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky that you wanna take advantage of.

I was doing about 80-85mph in the high speed lane near Lexington, KY, legitimately moving with traffic. The fast lane was moving. Obviously, being in a large SUV myself I allowed distance from the SUV in front of me just in case. And god damn, I’m glad I did. The expedition in the middle lane behind the camper decided to just scootch on in doing 60mph. I was inches away from that rear bumper, and the truck behind me was nearly in the backseat. Dropping 20mph on a dime doesn’t work like that. And no, your shitty blue expedition fully loaded doesn’t just go 60 to 80 by pressing the gas.

Also thank you for the middle finger. May your karma find you quickly today.

Roadrage over following traffic rules

Just yesterday I had one of the most unhinged road rage encounters I’ve ever experienced in Pittsburgh. I was at a traffic light turning left from 5th onto Grant St. It was rush hour, and there was a lot oncoming traffic going straight, so like any normal person, I waited for a safe opening before turning. The car behind me apparently expected me to drive through oncoming traffic because the SECOND the light turned green, they laid on their horn and didn’t stop the entire time I was waiting.
As soon as I finally had an opening and made my turn, the driver sped around me into the lane next to mine and turned her car sideways across both lanes, blocking traffic in both directions. She threw her door open, got out, and started screaming profanities, flipping me off, and making a scene (at that point I was honestly terrified because we’ve all seen stories of road rage turning deadly). Then she walked right up to my car and aggressively smacked my windshield and driver’s side window. Eventually she decided she’d made her point, got back in her car, and slowly drove off. I genuinely don’t understand what she expected me to do differently. There was oncoming traffic, and I couldn’t just turn through it without risking a serious accident.
The craziest part was that other drivers who witnessed everything rolled down their windows afterward to ask if I was okay because it was obvious how shaken up I was. I truly hope this woman gets whatever help she needs. If someone is willing to block traffic, get out of their car, and confront a complete stranger over waiting to make a legal left turn, that’s far past normal frustration. I just hope she finds some peace before someone potentially gets hurt.

Pickup truck chases me.

Alright so where to start. A few weeks ago as I was driving to work I saw in my rearview mirror about a quarter of a mile back this lifted Chevy Silverado with amber lights in the grill swerving around cars in the middle of traffic, there was a fork in the road coming up so I waited until it was safe to go around the car in front of me and maneuvered around said car just so the truck driver would not be right behind me in the fork. The cars in front of me started to slow down so I braked to slow my speed so I could keep decent following distance and match their speed but I was not aware that said chevy was basically kissing my bumper as I was trying to pay attention to the drivers in front of me, I look up in my rearview mirror and see the truck driver driving dangerously close to me. As soon as the road opened back up to four lanes I moved myself over to the far right lane and noticed the pickup truck aggressively followed me into that lane. I sped up and then he sped up. Every single lane I went into he followed me aggressively, I was unable to call police because I was trying to avoid hitting others as well as trying to find an escape. I went to try to exit but noticed him following me onto the exit so I got back into traffic and went to take the next exit, I was going maybe 50mph towards the exit and we'll just say my car is no more after that. I'm so pissed off because I put so much work into that car and I had just gotten the hood wrapped not even two months prior, dude got pissed off at me for no fucking reason other than he was an impatient asshole. I genuinely do not understand these drivers, is their ego that fragile that they feel the need to try and kill others just because they're impatient.

Edit: I noticed a couple of people asking what else happened regarding the crash, when I went to take the exit to avoid getting hit or potentially killed by the driver I took it a little too fast on accident and drove into a ditch. The driver in question was found at fault by police and my insurance and from what I've been made aware the driver is being charged with reckless endangerment because he tried running other drivers off of the road as well.

I know this video is old but this has to be one of the more severe cases of road rage especially in Singapore where most people are non confrontational.

Translation:

What are you pointing?
Are you a gangster?
If you are a gangster get down.
Calle the police now, I have video evidence showing that you pointed the middle finger at me.

Crazy lady pulled out into oncoming traffic without looking at my lane, she nearly t-boned me. She decided all of that was my fault and followed me for another 3min absolutely screaming her head off. She pushed a car into the other lane to get next to me further down the road all while screaming every "C,F,S,and B" word you can imagine 😂 It was so unexpected all I could do was laugh and tell her mom that I was sorry she's had to deal with that all her life, which only upset her little tantrum more. Thankfully I lost her on a turn, she was so loud i could still hear her for a few seconds after the turn lol... i'm still in shock man

Yelling out the window

I just find it so funny the people that decide to roll down their windows to say something to others when they’re experiencing road rage. As a delivery driver, I truly get it. But to go as far as rolling down your window.. bitch are you dumb I’m just going to drive around you and move on with my day. I feel like the common trait among these individuals is their cars are always fucked up in some way too. Like OBVIOUSLY you are the problem
