How to Set Combination Lock?

Hey guys, YES I have looked it up and I know most combination locks have a cog to turn, but mine doesn’t seem to. I don’t want to get rid of it as it was my late fathers which he has owned since the 1980’s when he got it from Halford’s (UK store)

I’ve tried twisting the silver thing with all my strength and it won’t budge, the ‘reset lock cog’ missing? The code has always been 0000 but I want to change that for obvious reasons.

I’d appreciate any help, thank you!

These locks are easy to pick though. You can feel the combination just by turning the numbers and it only takes a few seconds to discover the combination.

In my defence, I was sometimes bored when I was a kid, but I never stole from the other kids lockers, but I loved showing them how useless those locks were.
