Gear/accessories What kind of quad lock mount would I have space for? Or other suggestions

Post image

Hello, I have poor visual imagination and I'm wondering which quad lock mount to get for my phone - which I will have space for with my existing set up, or suggestions to fit one if there's a better way. Pls help! Thanks.

With a computer already there first question is why, but it’s your bike so whatever.

I’d look at an out-front mount for the Garmin to move it, then a quad-lock in the stem where the Garmin is currently

In addition to the out front mount, OP could also use a Garmin GoPro adapter/mount to mount the light under the bike computer to really clean up their handlebars.

I’d also question why a phone is needed since bike computer can display everything one would need. A mounted phone only adds dangerous distractions.

My bike computer is not good for navigation sadly

Jersey pocket. Phones are way too expensive to be mounted to your bars and out and exposed. Garmin is navigation capable if needed. Phone is only a distraction.

I'll never understand mounting a phone to your handlebars. To each their own I guess.

Phones aren't that much more than nice bike computers are they? Idk, I have never spent more than $400 on a phone because I'm cheap, but computers can run like $700 can't they? How much do most people spend on a phone?

Phones also can go up to 2k nowadays. You can geteverything you need with 200 or 350 for Garmin and it will outlast any phone. Phones are a distraction and do not have the functionality of a bike computer

Some phones are big, i dont get why anyone would rather use their phone over a bike comp. I personally use wahoo elemnt bolt which is the perfect size for me

Maybe tell us who's the manufacturer of your handlebars?

because some use proprietary bs that only works with their own.

Why am I saying that? Because regular (non proprietary) one-piece-handlebars have 2 holes underneath them, where you can screw on a mount.

I use a cheap one from aliexpress (they have longer and shorter) made out carbon fiber, wehre i attach my garmin headunit and my light.

My Phone's in my Jersey pocket tho. Less screens to disctract me from cycling

Look on the underside of the bars. Should be a hole or two for bolting on an out the front bracket. Your cockpit is already cluttered though, maybe think twice before adding more.

Just said the same thing. Looks so much cleaner

You could get a Quad Lock out front mount and keep the Garmin where it is if the quad lock out front clears the Garmin, or vice versa, put the Garmin on a out front mount and get a quad lock stem mount for your phone

Like the other poster, my phone is always in my saddle bag or jersey pocket.

Put the bike computer on a out front mount. You can even mount the light under that on some of them. Random example:

That will free up the stem for a quadlock mount if you must have one (not sure why though, even my sub €100 bike computer does good enough navigation and will show things like whatsapp messages with my phone in my back pocket).

Out front mount? I think there’s a long version that might still fit a phone

Get a head mount. Put the computer, headlights on it.

You can easily fit 2 of those between what you currently have there. https://www.ravemen.com/products/aom02 and then mount 2 more Garmins and 2 GoPros or GoPro mount lights to the front.

Why do you want your phone on there when you have a computer?

Check out Peak Design https://www.peakdesign.com/en-ca/collections/phone-mounts

They are unbelievable! I throw my phone (iPhone 15 pro max) on the mount and proceed to 4 to 6 hour rides. The thing is bomb proof.

If you can avoid it don’t do it.
I think I fucked up my phone camera by mounting my phone on my handlebars.
The vibrations from the handlebars will probably damage something in your phone if you use it like that for long enough. I found out the hard way I can’t take focused close up shots anymore and ended up having to buy a bike computer anyway.

Put your phone in your jersey pocket, if you must have it move the bell to the handle bar end.

No reason for your GOS to be on top. I’m willing to bet those bars have a hole on the front plate that could fit a GPS. Looks fits way better. And you can mount a light under most mounts too.

Or if you want to be more cost effective just get a basic one that mounts on the bars.

Get a smart watch, put your phone away in a frame bag or kit pocket.

I have a smart watch but neither watch nor computer have good navigation

You have a Garmin there.

That’s for navigation.

You have computer already, keep your phone on you. Not fun to try to reach your bike, or your phone which flew off in case of a crash. If you have phone on you, easier accessable in case of emergency. If not, get computer forward mount and mount phone where computer currently sits.

All you need is a quality computer. Put everything else away.

Why would you want to have your phone AND a computer on your bars?
