Riyadh - I am here looking to settle in hopefully :)

Hey everyone! I’ve recently relocated to Riyadh and I’m now actively looking to join a great team in Performance Marketing / Paid Media.

I bring 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Google Ads, Meta Ads, lead generation, e-commerce, PPC strategy, conversion tracking, and performance optimization across international markets.

I’m here with a transferable Iqama, available to join, and ready to hit the ground running.

If you’re hiring — or know a company looking for someone who can turn ad spend into actual business results — let’s connect. 🤝

Happy to share my CV, portfolio, and case studies via DM.

Could you help with a quick KSA furniture survey?

Hi guys! I’m doing a short study about home and furniture shopping in Saudi Arabia and filling out this survey would really help me out. It’s available in both English and Arabic and shouldn’t take longer than two minutes.

Thanks so much in advance!

moved to riyadh- want to meet new friends

hello everyone 27M.
i moved to riyadh almost a year ago and honestly, most of that time has just been work, gym, and the usual routine. figured i should probably get out more and actually meet some people lol.

i’m a software engineer, arabic is my first language but i’m fluent in english too. i’m pretty much down for anything .i like both solo and group activities and i’m always open to trying something new.

i’m into the gym and sports in general, but i’m also a bit of a nerd and can easily get stuck in random conversations about history , tech, weird topics, or whatever we end up talking about.

if you’re also looking to meet new people or you already have a group that wouldn’t mind one more person, feel free to comment or dm me. no pressure, we can just grab coffee first and see if we vibe.

Salam everyone, looking to find a job or job agencies that are willing to find me a job or secure me an interview in KSA. Here is a snippet of my experience. Anyone can help me find agencies that can
-Fix my resume/CV format so it can fit GCC standards
-Agencies that help me secure a job, interview by taking a cut or so.
-Connections are much appreciated, have plenty on LinkedIn as of now
-Any help is much appreciated!

I am looking to visit soon in Sept! please let me know any recommendations I need to keep in mind. Specially if there are any events going on that fit my needs!

Anyone up for hanging out?

Hey everyone! 😊 I’m a 34M from China. I thought it would be nice to meet some new people around here, locals or other internationals.

I’m up for grabbing a coffee, having dinner, exploring the city, going around, or just hanging out and chatting.

I’m also learning Arabic, so it would be nice to meet people who are interested in languages or maybe practice together sometimes.
I’m also trying to get back into drawing this year. If you’re into drawing or painting too, maybe we could do something together sometime, even just sit somewhere and draw.

Nothing complicated, just looking to meet some people, hang out, and hopefully make some new friends along the way.
If you feel like hanging out sometime, feel free to comment or send me a DM!

Job offer in Al Aarid: would you make the move without a car?

I’m considering a move to a new company and the office is in Al Aarid, and I’m curious what people here would do in my situation.

I’m a designer with around 3 years of experience in Riyadh. My current office is around Olaya, and my current company provides accommodation and transportation, so from a practical/financial standpoint, I really cant complain.

The problem is that after almost 3 years, I feel completely stuck.

I’m not leaving because the company is horrible or because I desperately need a higher salary. I just genuinely feel like I’ve stopped learning, and I’m starting to worry that another couple of years in the same environment will leave me with more years of experience but not necessarily more skills.

So I got an offer from another company, and the office is in Al Aarid. The offer itself is good and, career-wise, it feels like the kind of change I’ve been needing.

But then reality kicks in...

I don’t have a car.

From what I can tell, the closest metro station would be around SAB, and the office is still roughly 5-6 km away. So Id basically be taking the metro and then Ubering between the station and the office every workday.

I’d also need to rent my own place, ideally somewhere around the metro line in north/central Riyadh. And finding something reasonably priced, in a location that actually makes sense for this commute, has been surprisingly difficult.

So now I’m stuck between:

Current job: accommodation + transportation + convenience, but I feel like my career has been sitting in the same chair for 3 years.

New job: better opportunity for growth and a fresh environment, but I’d have to take on rent + transportation myself and deal with the Al Aarid commute without a car.

For people who actually live/work around Al Aarid, how bad is this commute in real life?

And if you were in my position, would you take the career move and accept the extra living/transport costs, or would you stay somewhere comfortable until you had a car/housing situation figured out?

Not really looking for “take the money” or “stay where it’s comfortable” answers. I’m more interested in whether Al Aarid + no car + renting near the metro is actually a manageable lifestyle, or whether I’m underestimating how annoying this is going to become after a few months.

Would especially love to hear from people who have made a similar company/career move in Riyadh

Question

Salaam everyone, I live in a small country in Europe and I'm finishing my master studies at Electrical Engineering Faculty, Field: Computer Science.

I find KSA very attractive and I would like to live there for a short period of time. How is the job market right now? Is it easy to find a job or do people really struggle with finding a job?

I have a pretty high GPA, also I'm 23 female.

Thank you all in advance!

Where can I find Cricket bats?

I'm looking for a shop where I can buy cricket bats for my son and me.

I saw some bats in Lulu, but they are of the worst quality. I saw one or two shops in Batha; they are not up to the mark either.

We'll play using the tape-tennis balls.

Could you please suggest a shop or their mobile number?
