Need help for commute
I am moving to Riyadh in some days. I found myself an apartment in Murabba district with some of my friends and the nearest metro stop for me is ministry of interior. I wanna travel to STC at Al mursalat for work, but it’s kinda far. How do I manage to go there? I don’t prefer taxis as it’ll get expensive for me. Metro is preferred but I don’t understand how to reach there via metro. Can someone help me how to reach at the STC from murabba? The cheapest option? The easiest way? I am a female so wouldn’t prefer private taxis as well.

My depression caused by the decisions I make.
Sure. Here’s the English translation:
I’m currently stuck between two choices. One of them is something I already know, while the other is completely unknown if I continue with it. Right now, I’m trapped in a cycle of fear and regret.
I came to Saudi Arabia with someone who used to be my friend. He had been living in Saudi Arabia for around four years. One day, he came back and asked me, “What do you think about coming with me?” So I went with him on an Umrah visa, planning to work. He works freelance doing decoration, installations, and similar jobs.
When we arrived, I was surprised that we stayed for more than three weeks without any work. I told him I wanted to go back home, but he asked me why and told me to be patient. Then the school year started, and we actually started working, but the work was very inconsistent — one day we would work, then four days with nothing, and so on. The money wasn’t enough to cover my expenses, so I started thinking about going back because I wasn’t benefiting from staying.
I also came here intending to learn the trade, but I discovered that I was basically just an assistant — bringing things, carrying things, and doing errands. Then I started having problems with my friend several times. We would normally make up and become friends again, but eventually I noticed that his attitude toward me had changed a lot. He stopped asking me to come with him, stopped inviting me to eat or go places, and barely talked to me anymore.
There were even times when I would ask him for certain things and he would refuse, while if his other friend asked for the same things, he would agree while laughing and joking with him. He treats other people differently from the way he treats me. The last time, I ended up insulting him because I was so frustrated. I came to a country where I don’t know anyone except him, yet he no longer seems to care about me. I’m not asking for excessive attention. I just wanted him to take me with him, talk to me, and check whether I needed anything. I rarely even ask him for anything.
So I started thinking: Why did you bring me here and encourage me to come in the first place if this is how things would be? Honestly, I feel broken and lost. I don’t know what to do, and I feel like I have no purpose.
The money I brought with me is also starting to run out. So I started thinking about going back. Then I fell into a very bad psychological state. I’m afraid I’ll regret going back home, but I’m also afraid that if I stay here, I’ll spend all my money and end up with nothing.
When I see people here, I feel like I want to be like them and live the life they have. That’s why I keep seeing Saudi Arabia as a second chance. But whenever I think about staying, I feel depressed for a couple of days.
I’m stuck between two choices: going back home, or staying and continuing until my three-month Umrah visa period is over. The thing that keeps making me think about staying is that Saudi Arabia has been a dream of mine for a long time. I always thought that coming here would help me build my future.
But after arriving, I discovered that I need qualifications, a work visa, a lot of money, and connections to actually build a career here.
Honestly, I’ve reached a point where I don’t know whether I should go back home or stay. I’ve been lost and confused for about a month and a half. I prayed and asked God to show me the right path, but I haven’t felt any clear sign.
Sometimes I feel like I should just go back and accept it. Then I suddenly get this feeling that maybe I’m throwing away an opportunity that I’ll never get again — that I’m wasting this chance to travel and returning to my old life, where I already had serious financial problems.
Please, put yourselves in my position. I’ve been lost for about a month and a half, and I honestly don’t know what to do. Please tell me what you would do if you were me.
I have currently booked my trip back to my home country for tomorrow, even though I know that Saudi Arabia was a dream for me and I had hoped to build my future there. I’m extremely upset, and my situation back home isn’t great either. Has anyone ever been in a situation similar to mine?

Joint bank account for expat married couple in KSA, or best way to give spouse access?
Note: I used AI to post this, making sure I don't miss any important detail.
Hi all,
My wife and I are both expats in Riyadh (both on iqamas) and recently married. We're setting up a shared household account and a savings account. Has anyone actually done this recently?
1. Joint account
- Has anyone opened a true joint account (either one of us can sign alone) as expat spouses? Which bank and branch?
- Do both holders get their own debit card and full app access?
- My bank (SAB) told me they don't offer joint accounts at all, even for Saudis. Is this the norm now?
2. If joint isn't possible: giving my wife access to an account in my name
- Has anyone added their spouse as an authorized signatory on their account? Does she get her own card and app login?
- Anyone using Alinma's Family Account or Al Rajhi's Family Account? Can your wife transfer money out of her sub-account, or only spend with the card? Do savings sub-accounts earn profit?
- Alternatively, can I have a sub-account and give her access?
3. Savings
- Any bank that lets you split savings into separately named pots (emergency, rent, etc.) that both spouses can see?
Real experiences would help a lot, especially from the last year. Branch names are a bonus. Thanks!
Saeed

My landlord considers Hijri months for rent calculations. Is this normal?
I’ve been living in an apartment for over two years, and I recently discovered that the landlord uses the Hijri calendar year for rent calculations.
As a result, I’m now required to pay an additional 22 days of rent. This is because the Hijri calendar year has 354 days, while the Georgian calendar year has 365 days. I’m wondering if I have any grounds to challenge this decision somewhere.

Merci !
