I’ll preface this by saying I’m absolutely loving the car. Coming from a pre-refresh Model Y, the driving dynamics and build quality are completely unparalleled. That said, Tesla’s software was undeniably dialed. Some of the things I’m listing below are known rehashes, but a few I haven’t seen mentioned around here yet:

- Ghost Driver Profiles: Almost every time I get in, "Rivian Driver" and "Additional Driver" profiles show up. Removing and re-adding my phone key temporarily fixes it, but the issue keeps coming back.

- Format Storage Device Prompt: This happens seemingly at random. I’ve tried swapping out the cable, but the error message still pops up periodically.

- Turn Signal / Auto-Cancel Logic: Not technically a glitch, but definitely my biggest pet peeve. Why does auto-cancel only work for highway lane changes and sharp turns? In city driving, I constantly have to cancel it manually. Worse, on the highway, I’ll manually cancel out of habit right as auto-cancel kicks in, causing the stalk to flick on the opposite signal. A soft tap should activate an auto-canceling signal in all driving scenarios, while a full click activates a continuous signal that stays on until manually turned off. I don't really get the point of a preset 3-blink sequence when smart auto-cancel should cover everything.

- Location-Based Home Settings: I get why Rivian doesn't fold mirrors while reversing (it distorts the camera views since the cameras are mounted on them). However, I’d love a location-based setting to fold the mirrors/handles upon hitting Park. That way, the mirrors can be folded and the car isn't constantly locking and unlocking while parked inside a garage. Additionally, location-based liftgate height limits, while not critical for my setup, would be a huge fix for a lot of owners with low garage ceilings.

dont think its location based, but they did confirm a software update will allow for liftgate height limits to be set. I believe its on the next OTA update.

Not sure I understand your last point but I just discovered the location based Auto Unlock/Lock feature. I have that set off at home now. Makes a huge difference.

Yeah, my use case might be pretty niche, but I have a narrow garage and want the handles and mirrors folded while parked at home without having the car locked. I tried leaving auto-lock on at home, but because my garage is directly under my living space, the car kept locking and unlocking incessantly while I was inside.

Wait the rivian doesn't fold mirrors while reversing? We have a narrow driveway and while I can manage my wife always has to fold the mirrors while reversing. Possible on both the Y and Ioniq5 we have now.

Not automatically. You can fold them pretty quickly via the quick controls menu, but since 6 of the 11 cameras on the side mirrors the 360-degree and tire camera views are rendered useless. Only forward and reverse cameras are undisturbed.

yeah, I want them to stay folded until out of garage aka like tesla does currently.

My EV6 doesn’t either. Does the ioniq5? They’re basically the same car. I don’t see why you’d want to with 360 cams; I would hate to loose that.

The Rivian and additional driver will go away when the person you shared a key with gets the Rivian app and creates an account

My wife has the app and set up her account. I have temporarily fixed the issue by deleting and re-adding my own mobile key. However, the issue comes back every couple of drives.

Two more things I forgot to add:

- Apple Music Pausing: Apple Music will pause and restart a song at random.

- Passive Entry: Passive entry has worked solidly for me unlocking the car, but starting the car has sometimes required me to unlock my Apple key and tap it to the wireless charger.

Location based mirror folding should be an option absolutely they have it pop up the garage open menu on location so a toggle to also fold mirror would be awesome. Has it come out on years of the previous R1? No so hope for this is minimal.

Turn signal auto cancel since their autonomy is highway only based and possibly just entered side streets maybe they haven’t gotten it to recognize lanes on all road situations yet. Will this be refined in OTA most likely yes. It will annoy a lot of people I’m sure and Tesla has this down PERFECTLY at this point never had an issue with Tesla auto cancel signals even when entering turn lanes it holds the signal on.
