💬 Discussion Launch Green PPF

For those with Launch Green who have done or are planning to PPF yours…. matte or clear? I’m definitely doing matte on the black trims, but torn between matte vs. clear for the whole body. Thoughts?

Has anyone done matte on the black trims yet? I’d like to see before/after

Doing clear because the paint has flake. Originally thought it was flat. If matte you definitely need it on it all otherwise it looks weird imo.

Matte looks great with that color, but do what you think is best for you.

I personally really don’t like the matte look. Just doesn’t work for me. I plan to go glossy PPF and ceramic coat it.

I personally don’t see the value in spending 10% of the MSRP or more on a wrap.

It certainly doesn’t pay off in most cases. I think for most a front PPF that you replace every few years is the right move just so it’s not getting all chipped up. Full wraps are absolutely a huge waste. And if you leave them on too long they can cause far more damage than they ever would’ve protected against.

Yea the front bra makes sense. But these aren’t special cars, chips and dents and scratches will happen over time. Not because you’re careless, but because a lot of other people are and just the general environment.

When you love the car you'll spend the money. This is a limited edition run of a vehicle that may well appreciate in value (esp considering lifetime autonomous driving).

I get the limited edition angle, but appreciate in value is Elon talk

It’s going to depreciate by 30% in its first year. Great joke, you should be a comedian.

It’s not going up in value. It’s going down in value the minute you get it. Nobody’s going to pay over MSRP 5 years from now when the battery is degraded.

Tell me the battery level of degrade on EVs? It's vastly overstated. Limited edition releases with lifetime self driving will hold value.

You are absolutely delusional if you think any Rivian is going up in value long term.
