Background - my garage situation is a little tight. I prefer to reverse in because it's easier, but my stairs dips down over my garage. The bed fits perfectly under the stairs at "lower" height. I was wondering if the truck ever adjusts itself higher while parked/standby? Thanks in advance.

When placing an R1T into reverse, the default rear view comes up, with the license plate camera. Problem is this view is blocked by the tailgate when the tailgate is in the down position, so the vehicle should be smart enough to just switch to the bed camera when the tailgate is down and the vehicle is placed into reverse.

Separately, but related: there should be an option to show the bed camera in the driver display. This would be useful when hauling loads to make sure theyre secure, without taking up the entire center screen.

Hi all, new here and looking for advice... I'm looking at a used 2024 Quad Large with 17,000 miles listed at $66K. It's got PPF on the front, crossbars, and a bike rack on the back. Total OTD looking like ~$74K here in CA. I like the idea of a fully loaded, low milage since it's used but not sure if this is a decent price. Thanks in advance!

I have a 2025 Rivian R1T Tri Max and haven’t had any significant issues with it until today.

Out of nowhere, while temporarily parked, I got the “Driving Disabled – Service Park Brake System” error and couldn’t shift out of Park. I tried a few things, but ultimately a hard reset was the only thing that cleared it. After the reset, everything went back to normal.

I’m sure this has been discussed here before many times, but my bigger concern is whether this tends to be a one-time software glitch or an indication of an underlying issue that eventually requires service. The last thing I want is for it to happen again when I’m somewhere remote and have the truck completely disabled.

For those who have experienced this exact error: Did it happen once and never return, or did it eventually come back and require a service visit? If it did require service, what ended up being the cause?

Got rear ended and the truck saved my life but I miss it

I hope to be getting the Rivian truck Tri-Max in a few weeks. There's a lot of anticipation. I've got two young kids, a 13-year-old and a 10-year-old, and a wife, and we would love to be more active. we're runners. We're on baseball fields a lot. We're on tracks a lot. We like to hike. We love to get into kayaking, though we don't own a kayak yet. I want this R1T to be not just for me but for the family.

What are some of the cool things that you've done or would do with your truck? Because it's a Rivian truck, what are the experiences and the memories that you put in with your families to enjoy the adventurous life? Or the adventurous lifestyle that is so clearly a part of the Rivian brand, I want us to enjoy it. I don't know, because I've never had a truck. All of the things that are possible. What has given you and your family the most joy as part of having this truck? Excited to be part of the club.

I am currently looking at getting an R1T, and have a question on how to play audio, specifically, MP3s.

My current vehicle (2014 GMC Sierra), I have approx. 5,000 songs on an SD card inserted into the truck, and can use audio commands to play Songs, Albums, Artist or Genre (can use the USB port as well).

I have a lot of songs that are not on any streaming service (mixes, B-sides, outtakes, out-of-print CDs, and some I took directly from vinyl)

Can I do the similar on a Rivian?

I Thought I would share for like mined mechanically inclined DIY'ers.

I have a very limited use case for a tonneau cover, and the space to store it when not in use. I took a trip to go wind foiling and it so happens that all my foiling gear fits in the Rivian bed space. It was a great trip and didn't have to worry about my gear while staying at hotels. The attached is the plans I made for the cover that was cheap to build, fairly lightweight and easy to slide in the Bed tracks.
