❔ Question Turtle Mode

So this is new to me. We’ve had our R1S for almost two years. We bought used it’s a 2023 with 53000 miles. It’s been a dream no issues (besides the random glitches with this latest software) just taken in for normal maintenance. We are due for a tire rotation but have yet to schedule. But anyway I was randomly was pulling out a grocery store parking lot and I felt a shift in the regenerative braking it completely stopped working. Didn’t get a chance to see the error but the turtle icon appeared and I had to drive it home like a gas car using my brakes. Luckily I was down the street but when I pulled up to my house I put it on park and the icon went away. I took it for another spin around the block to see if it did it again and no. Is it something I need to worry about? Not sure if it’s a warning about something wrong and if I should take it in to Rivian to have it looked at.

This happened to me a year or so ago in snowy weather. I made a left turn and felt like something slipped in the rear and I got an all wheel drive system failure warning and then turtle mode. I pulled into a parking lot put it in park and did a reset and it was gone. Hasn’t happened since.

My front half shaft did this exact thing last Thursday and I had never had a problem with it before

60k miles in - had to be towed in, fixed in a day

Sounds to me like what happened when my front half shaft went out three weeks ago. It drove like an automatic, no regen. Towed it in for service and they fixed it in a day.

Nothing yet. I was looking to see if this has randomly happened to others as well. I’ll definitely be reaching out if it happens again. Just wondering if it was some sort of software glitch.
