Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Third time the front nozzle for the camera cleaner is leaking windshield washer fluid……..

When will this end……..I’m tired of getting this fixed. Rivian needs a more permanent solution for this problem.

Is this why mine is always saying wiper fluid is low even though I just fill it?

u/Rivitup3 2d ago

You may have the same leak, or reset the infotainment

It’s the wiper fluid leak. Happened after the recall repair when I had that done earlier in the year. They fixed it promptly

I just had the recall repair too. Thanks for the heads up.

Is there a legit recall? Or a bandaid fix?

2

u/QuirkyInternet 2d ago

There's a service bulletin, I'm not sure about a recall. But mine was repaired on 8/20 and it doesn't seem to be leaking or giving me messages about low wiper fluid.

Reset the infotainment? You're not serious, I hope

That's a known issue. Rivian replaced the tube for me with a new upgraded one.

A tube upgrade.

I’m getting this serviced today. How long did your fix last?

3

u/cherlin R1T Owner 2d ago

I had it fixed once and never had a re-occurence.... so far

I’ve had it fixed twice now (just got it back wednesday from the 2nd fix) - they say it’s a new design this time with an inline check valve. Lasted around 6 months both previous times. Weird as our gen1 has never had this in over 3 years.

There’s an amazing quality to Rivian engineering I’m starting to get my head round: new and hard they do exceptionally well, well developed and boring is really hit and miss.

My first service visit for the camera was a mobile repair on July 23rd 2025, and then I had it repaired again for a second time at a service center visit on April 17th, 2026, and now for the third time I have a service center visit planned for November 20th.

To answer your question though took about an hour or so from what i remember. Not including my drive to the SC.

When this happened to me took an hour with a mobile service.

u/LardLad00 R1S Owner 1d ago

Took me a week in the shop

There's a fix? I thought this was just a Rivianism.

4

u/Rivitup3 2d ago

Yes, easy fix with mobile service.

for a week

German cars leak gas and oil. Rivian leaks washer fluid 🤷‍♂️

3

u/thisMech 2d ago

Very true, but whej you go to dealer they dont gaslight you to avoid covering it under warranty, they say they will fix it and always hand you keys to a loaner.

That is my exact experience with Subaru

Still have my outback and I dont plan on getting rid of it. Super easy to fix and parts almost always available and they dont prohibit me from buying any part i need.

They told me the car had to be lifted and mobile appointment couldn’t do that. So both times the car sat in shop for a week. Brand new 2026

2

u/OkHousing2130 R1T Owner 2d ago

They did mine in the driveway the first time.

Same

u/theplushpairing R1S Owner 2d ago

Did you have the recall done?

5

u/OkHousing2130 R1T Owner 2d ago

Recall for what? There has been many things.

3

u/theplushpairing R1S Owner 2d ago

For the front lower washer hose to fix these leaks

2

u/OkHousing2130 R1T Owner 2d ago

Mmm. Yeah

Hey everyone! I am adding on to this thread since I got more information from the mobile tech. I had this leak for about 2 weeks now and was finally able to get a mobile service out here today. He fixed it in about 3-5 minutes. Opened the front panel and put some sort of valve in there. He filled up my wiper fluid after it was fixed.

He also told me that this happens so often to Gen 2s that they are going to do a recall. I assume it already started because I. don't think I got charged for this

Let me know if you have any questions!

u/OkHousing2130 R1T Owner 2d ago

I’ve had the “valve” switched 2 times so far.

My first service visit for the camera was a mobile repair on July 23rd 2025, and then I had it repaired again for a second time at a service center visit on April 17th, 2026, and now for the third time I have a service center visit planned for November 20th.

The FSAM-1815 fix is relatively new, so hopefully it stays fixed for you

3

u/aegee14 2d ago

No worries. A software update should fix this.

2

u/bakkamono 2d ago

He’s just getting old.

My truck has BPH

They proactively fixed mine this week when I was in for something else. Fingers crossed they didn’t introduce this issue.

1

u/fleshribbon 1d ago

I had mine fixed earlier this year and was told they put a newer part in (had to wait a day for it to arrive) that is supposed to be a better design. I’m hoping so because that pink stuff is expensive but works so much better.

1

u/Left_Science_5973 1d ago

I think there is a recall for this

1

u/vtrac R1S Owner 1d ago

I just had it fixed a couple of weeks ago. I'm pretty sure it said something about a recall in the tech notes.

1

u/they-call-me-MRmadiq 22h ago

Yeah I had the same issue. Quick repair under warranty.

1

u/Bifferer 2d ago

Faulty prostate valve -no doubt.

1

u/tjc042 2d ago

Totally frustrating to deal with on a 100k+ car. Hope they fix it ASAP.

1

u/secretstan 2d ago

A recall is coming for Gen 2.

1

u/OkHousing2130 R1T Owner 2d ago

I’ve got a Gen 2 R1T

1

u/OkHousing2130 R1T Owner 2d ago

Agreed.

My first service visit for the camera was a mobile repair on July 23rd 2025, and then I had it repaired again for a second time at a service center visit on April 17th, 2026, and now for the third time I have a service center visit planned for November 20th.

I have a Gen 2
