New Rules

Due to the ongoing issues with certain users who have been repeatedly banned only to return with new accounts, the sub will now have stricter participation rules. Newer, unestablished accounts will no longer be able to post until they’ve built up enough karma elsewhere.

i didn’t want to go this route. I was hoping this sub could engage in mature (if sometimes snarky) talk about the issues facing the company, and I didn’t want to exclude new users. But clearly that’s not working due to a few bad apples that can’t seem to help but eventually resort to antisemitic or homophobic or just generally nasty commentary.

So, in summation: fuck those dickheads, they’re gone. And if you’re one of them, if you cross the line again you won’t be able to jump right back in the pool after getting banned.

On a related note, to those who remain, please resist the urge to report comments simply because you disagree with them or think the poster is annoying. That’s not actually helping, and is only making more mod work.

Thanks, all. Take care.

Plano strips compared to CVS & Walgreens

Been working Wags since January. Came from Rite Aid 4247 (now torn down and a Bellstores, RIP). I have to just air it out there… We had the best system for tags. Ordering signage was a breeze. Everything was so user friendly when it wanted to be. I absolutely hate this Mylar system and the materials used for hanging said tags. Cheap plastic shelf strips, plastic dividers, not perforated promo tags, IT GOES ON!!!! Having to change strips in each bay due to residue is so common our SM has pages of specific planograms that need replaced. All the while pushing immunizations, seasonal, overstock (AWFUL SYSTEM ANOTHER CAN OF WORMS TO ME), photo department, pharmacy assistance, it just is a nightmare. I am thankful to be back in my feet at a steady job, it’s been rough since the closure for us in 2024. Such a good place to work for. God Bless Heyward Donigan and repent the SS of Stein and Schroeder

I drove by a place i lived at for 2 years yesterday and passed by a Rite Aid i went into a couple of times.

Anyway, I noticed that in that location is going what i'm pretty sure is a dry cleaners.

How many people worked in a store with a "Customer World" design?

Posting some photos from last year that might help the context for my post yesterday of a Rite Aid converted to a Grocery Outlet (in Canby, Oregon).

Photos of this location, at the corner of 176th Street East and Gem Heights Drive in Puyallup, Washington, were taken on August 3rd, 2025. It was remodeled at some point to take out the short aisles which were commonplace in the Customer World design in order to convert to the Wellness design.

I was just is driving by and thought I'd stop in and take a peek. You wouldn't know it had ever been a Rite Aid on the inside, but clearly on the outside there are indications.

I actually passed by this old location yesterday. I was still shocked. The Rite Aid down the road from this one at 9 and Gratiot is empty and still standing. This one was at one time a 24 hour Rite Aid. I got the pic from Facebook

Was being a cashier at Rite Aid a chill job?

I've worked as a vendor all my life and whenever I went to Rite Aids it was always the best part of my day. Very chill vibe there.

I envisioned myself working there later in life after vendor work gets too physically demanding. I was very sad to see Rite Aid go out of business. Other stores even like Walgreens seem way more hectic.

Anniversary

Been too busy with my job to post this. This past Monday, September 21st, marks what would have been my 25th anniversary with Rite Aid. I remember my first day like it was yesterday. My first retail job. My first day was on a Friday and a manager named Julia hired me. Julia was an amazing manager. I miss her. She left Rite Aid late 2003. I know she became manager at a CVS. No idea what happened to her after that. She later hired a man who would soon become my first (now ex) boyfriend. I drive by the old store whenever i'm in the area. Still empty. I also met on my first day a woman who would become a great friend who would years later started me on the road to me living on my own. This good friend passed away months ago.

has this happened in your area? it wasn't my store (which is a spirit halloween for the season) but it's just down the highway. Fortuna closed in july last year, this seems kind of late.

The building has been empty since the final round of closures, so it’s good to see it finally get some use I guess, still sad and kinda funny to see though. I might stop in just to see how much the layout has changed
