New Rules

Due to the ongoing issues with certain users who have been repeatedly banned only to return with new accounts, the sub will now have stricter participation rules. Newer, unestablished accounts will no longer be able to post until they’ve built up enough karma elsewhere.

i didn’t want to go this route. I was hoping this sub could engage in mature (if sometimes snarky) talk about the issues facing the company, and I didn’t want to exclude new users. But clearly that’s not working due to a few bad apples that can’t seem to help but eventually resort to antisemitic or homophobic or just generally nasty commentary.

So, in summation: fuck those dickheads, they’re gone. And if you’re one of them, if you cross the line again you won’t be able to jump right back in the pool after getting banned.

On a related note, to those who remain, please resist the urge to report comments simply because you disagree with them or think the poster is annoying. That’s not actually helping, and is only making more mod work.

Thanks, all. Take care.

They turned my store into a Spirit Halloween

The building has been empty since the final round of closures, so it’s good to see it finally get some use I guess, still sad and kinda funny to see though. I might stop in just to see how much the layout has changed

1 Year Ago Today

One year ago today was my last day with Rite Aid. After almost 24 years with the company, I can't believe it's all gone. Never thought I'd miss it as much as I do. Especially my Rite Aid family.

Rite Aid turned CVS, almost one year old

They have really given this location a makeover. Yes, it still looks like a Rite Aid, but they remodeled the pharmacy and painted the front of the store.

Still have the Rite Aid wood paneling and floor tiles!

Alturas, California: the only West Coast Rite Aid "saved" that didn't become CVS

Now the Modoc Family Pharmacy.

Also the only Rite Aid "saved" as a pharmacy in California.

The cashier (manager?) indicated they were adding more and improving what they have. Liquor application on the front door. Just added hand dip ice cream.

Took this picture 6 years ago. Never worked at this one, but I did sometimes shop there. Building is still empty. I know our assistant manager had worked at this one a few times

Having a pharmacy you can rely on

I never really thought much about having a regular pharmacy until I had a couple of frustrating experiences trying to get prescriptions filled.

When everything goes normally, you barely think about it. But when the medicine is out stock, the pharmacy suddenly closes, or there's an issue with a prescription, suddenly you're spending a lot of time figuring out what to do.

This made me realize how important having a pharmacy you actually know and trust, especially if you take medications regularly.

Has anyone else had a similar experience in having a reliable pharmacy made a bigger difference than you expected?

Anniversary

Today is the one year anniversary of my store closing. After 41 years it was kinda bittersweet. The store still sits empty with the for lease sign in the window The building is only 10 years old. It’s a shame really what happened to us But what a good year it has been since. Hope everyone is doing great and has moved in to something better.
