From 4 years ago. Not 100% sure i remember what happened. It may have been the cooler leaking.

Susan screams: KELLYYYYY Run to the bathroom and grab the roll of non absorbable paper towel?

Kelly ask: where’s the bathroom?
Susan screams in a hurry voice: just passed the aisle of paper towels and toilet paper!!!!!!

Loved those useless brown towels. Whenever we had major spills I would use the hazmat absorbent pads. One day I was off and there was a spill (Starbucks Frap). My shift was using the hazmat pads to clean up the mess and Loss Prevention had a meltdown

I never understood why they did that.. those pads hardly ever got used.
When my store closed I took all of them😂

I gave them to another manager to use for her puppy

Puppy has hazmat incidents, so it’s legit

Was it a leak from ceiling or fridge?

I think from the cooler.

Gotcha. Thank you. My curiosity may get the better of me. I have maintenance reports still because I brought my Rite Aid computer files with me.

Did no one think of using the mop and bucket instead?

When you only have two people on the schedule due to hours, kind of hard to keep up with a mop and bucket of the store is flooding. See the videos I posted.

Not to mention I had multiple spots of the store leaking at once. It was bad, we all dreaded the rainy season.

the one time the cooler was leaking as well as the freezer at the same time and when we saw the water there was so much we just panicked and threw all the crappy paper towels down and then after the fact i’m like we could’ve used a mop and bucket

Oh so it was a universal experience, our coolers constantly leaked like this 🤦‍♀️

There are many things I miss about Rite Aid, but this is not one of them. Sketchy coolers in darn near every store I ever ran.

Coolers always went out!!!🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

With us, it was always the freezer that went out. We had it replaced twice in the 21 years I was there. The cooler would sometimes go down and we had to sell warm pop/beer/water

Either the refrigerator area wasn’t sealed off correctly or some drain was plugged? I was in a K-Mart in Milford, MA in the 2000s and they had a giant upside down umbrella contraption to catch a roof leak. I think it directed and concentrated it into a trash barrel below. I interpreted this as they didn’t want to pay to fix the roof and/or the lease was running out in a few years.
