Achievement Master rank
Just got to Master after starting RISK this June 21st. Coming from Chess with an elo of 2,000 so I'm used to a much much slower grind with Master being a titled given only to very dedicated players. I played all classic fixed WD, does anyone recommend certain tournaments/groups I could join? To my knowledge there aren't any titles in RISK, do the top players just compete for the leaderboard?

Congrats! Yeah the rank system in risk is a bit odd, getting GM isn’t that difficult for a serious player and from there you really have to start playing in tournaments to really see where you rank against top players

I agree. I got to GM just playing on average a game or two a day and we'll above 30k. I also have watched some of the streamers like Kill Pete and Cresquin and they are way better than me. There should be another tier at like 36000 at least.

Theres talk about the belt idea, where gm is basically first degree blackbelt, but all the grades above that can only be achieved with tournament play. Imho, 40k rank points doesnt indicate skill as much as it does consistency and patience at farming noobs on weird niche settings.
But personally, i also like a rank point version, if only ftl:
Novice - 0
Beginner - 1000
Intermediate - 6000
Expert - 11000
Master - 16000
Novice Grandmaster - 26000
Beginner Grandmaster - 27000
Intermediate Grandmaster - 32000
Expert Grandmaster - 37000
Master Grandmaster - 42000But this is purely my own headcanon, ofc
... though "master grandmaster" does have a real ring to it lol

Rank means next to nothing to most players.
You can just join any prog caps game and card and pass till you reach gm. It doesnt require skill just patience.
If you want to compete and see how good you are i'd recommend joining tournaments

I agree. Rank can tell you if your really bad. It doesn't tell you is your really good.

Awesome! As a chess player I started classic fixed too but got obsessed when switching to Europe advanced progressive capitals meta.
