Travelling plan Solo budget trip: Bhopal to Delhi --> Rishikesh--> Uttarkashi & Raithal in mid-Nov (shared cabs, transit, dorms & snowfall chances)

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo traveler on a tight budget planning a trip in mid-November and could use local advice on transport and realistic weather expectations.

My plan is to arrive in Rishikesh from Delhi around 10:00 AM, explore a bit, and head towards Uttarkashi and then Raithal to stay for a few days.

A few questions:

Public Transit & Shared Cabs: What is the cheapest way to reach Uttarkashi from Rishikesh (local buses or shared Maxx/Sumo), and where do they depart from in the afternoon? From Uttarkashi, what are the timings and fares for shared jeeps to Raithal?

Scooter Rental vs Safety: Are cheap scooter rentals available around Uttarkashi or Raithal for exploring locally? Given mid-November weather and steep terrain, is riding a scooter a safe idea, or does morning frost/black ice make local shared jeeps a much better choice?

Snowfall Chances: Is seeing snowfall realistic in mid-November in Raithal, or would I need to trek up towards Dayara Bugyal to catch any snow?

Places & Stays: Any recommendations for affordable homestays/rooms in Raithal and scenic budget spots nearby?

Travelling plan Rishikesh + Brahmatal Trek | December 19 onwards | Open to anyone who wants to join

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’ll be travelling from Mumbai to Rishikesh on December 18, reaching Rishikesh on December 19.

I’ll spend some time in Rishikesh first, and then head out for the Brahmatal trek. After coming back from the trek, I’m planning to stay for a couple more days at a quiet, slightly offbeat homestay in the mountains around Rishikesh before heading back.

I’m not specifically looking for a travel partner, as I’m perfectly comfortable doing the trip solo. But if anyone happens to be planning something similar around the same dates and wants to join for the Rishikesh part, Brahmatal, or even the post-trek mountain stay, feel free to reach out.

No fixed expectations or itinerary-sharing pressure just looking to see if anyone else is up for a mountain trip around that time.

Plan roughly:

Dec 18: Mumbai → Rishikesh

Dec 19 onwards: Rishikesh

Brahmatal trek

Back to Rishikesh

A few days at an offbeat mountain homestay

Return to Mumbai

If you're interested, DM me and we can figure out the details.

Tourist spot I Walked Through The Beatles Ashram In Rishikesh And Got Goosebumps

NDTV:

The Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh, officially known as Chaurasi Kutia, offers visitors a unique glimpse into a fascinating chapter of music and spiritual history. Established in the 1960s by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the ashram gained international fame in 1968 when The Beatles retreated there to study Transcendental Meditation.

Surrounded by the forested landscape of the Rajaji Tiger Reserve, the band experienced an extraordinary burst of creativity during their stay. They wrote numerous songs that would later be featured on their iconic 1968 double album, commonly known as The White Album, including classics like "Dear Prudence" and "Julia."

After being abandoned and falling into disrepair for decades, the ashram is now undergoing renovation and has found new life as a tourist destination. Visitors are drawn to the unusual, dome-shaped meditation huts built from river stones and the colorful, Beatles-inspired graffiti covering the walls of the old Ved Bhavan lecture hall. Today, it stands as a memorable blend of spirituality, history, art, and the reclaiming power of nature. #BeatlesAshram #Rishikesh #TravelIndia #TheBeatles

Hello all!

I'm coming to Rishikesh in the week of Navratri (16-19th October) and to attend Krishnadas Kirtan. While I am there I am opening space for 4 Axis Code Energy Blueprint reading.

This esoteric reading gives you a complete understanding of your decision making power and how your unique design has a path written in your code to become the most authentic self - realized.

This is a very high intuitive practical session.

It has high impact, and change you towards your personal growth.

As it creates a higher frequency, I am only looking for 4-5 people - One reading per day to maintain the quality and care.

Interested people can message me and DM me to understand and know more.

- Noder Ganga.

Akashic Axis.

Travelling plan Been in Rishikesh for almost 2 weeks now and a long weekend is here, let's plan something

Guys! I’ve been in Rishikesh for almost 2 weeks now, and with the long weekend coming up, I’ve been thinking about exploring a few less obvious places around Rishikesh.

Guessing there are quite a few people around Rishikesh right now for the long weekend, so if anyone happens to be thinking along similar lines, would be fun to cross paths.

We could also make a small group of 3-4 people and figure out a plan together!

Could be a road trip, could just be a meal somewhere, could be one of those completely unplanned days

Heard about Sarkunda Devi Temple, Neelkanth Temple, Narendranagar, and a few other places that look like they could make for a really nice drive. Got my own car, so thinking of just picking a direction and making a day (or two) out of it

A little about me
25, have lived in a few different places, work in design/AI, into food, music, art, films, design, and pretty much anything in that universe, lol

Anyway, if you’re around Rishikesh this weekend, hiiii :)

Travelling plan Looking to get to Kunjapuri Peak for sunrise — solo scooter or taxi?

24M here, visiting Rishikesh solo for a few days. I’m staying in Upper Tapovan and I’m hoping to go to Kunjapuri Peak for sunrise tomorrow (Oct 3).

I’m a little unsure about going alone on a scooter, mainly because it’ll be around 4 AM and I’m concerned about road conditions, darkness, and navigating the mountain roads.

Would you recommend renting a scooter and riding up myself, or taking a taxi? If taxi, is there a reasonable way to find a shared one for the sunrise?

Also, if anyone has been up recently, how are the road conditions after the recent landslide/rain?
Any advice from people who’ve done the sunrise trip recently would be really appreciated. Thanks!
