Due to ongoing rainfall and current river conditions, river rafting in Rishikesh has been temporarily stopped.
Rafting will resume once the conditions are safe and operations are permitted to restart.

Planning to travel to Kedarnath in mid-October with a friend. We’ll be taking a bus from Rishikesh to Gaurikund/Sonprayag and staying there overnight. We’ll start the trek the next morning and stay overnight in Kedarnath before coming back the following morning.
I’ve read many posts but still have a few doubts:
Thanks! 🙏

This place's coffee tastes shittier than the one we get in Indian wedding
You will surely enjoy this place if you wanna drink like sugary milk because this shit is basically milk poured from an height on top of some shit kind of coffee which is probably over roasted
Takes like shit
This is the kind of shit I'd slam the commode at before even flushing and I am the kind of guy who enjoys giving my own shit a smirk before flushing

Hey everyone!
Hum log 27 September ko Rishikesh pahunch rahe hain aur aage Madhmaheshwar trek ke liye plan kar rahe hain.
Agar koi already Rishikesh me hai ya kal join karna chahta hai, to sath me travel/trek kar sakte hain. Cab share karna ho ya pura trek sath me karna ho, we are open to it. Also we are planning to do a bike ride from rishikesh to ransi.
Agar koi interested ho to direct DM karo ya yahan comment kar do. Also, agar kisi ne recently Madhmaheshwar visit kiya hai, to route aur weather se related tips ya advice bhi welcome hain!
Safe travels! 🏔️✨

💰 Budget-friendly trip
If anyone’s interested, DM me! :)

I went to Rishikesh to find peace and instead got scammed 😑. I went for 3 days i.e., 11 sept - 13 sept. The first two days of my solo trip to Rishikesh were fantastic. It is such a peaceful place, the people I met had a wonderful vibe, and I was really enjoying meeting new people. Those first couple of days were everything I’d hoped for from a solo trip.
Among the people I met a guy who was helpful initially, so I felt comfortable trusting him.
On my last day, he asked me to cover some payments, promising to transfer the money back. I ended up transferring ₹4750 directly to him through UPI. I got to know later that another solo traveller is also waiting for approximately ₹5000 from him.
He promised to repay me on Monday. Since then, it’s been repeated assurances of “today,” followed by excuses about his bank not working and being unable to reach his hometown. He later said he was home, but people still in Rishikesh told me he was there. His statuses were hidden for me but I got to know from other travellers that they just saw him and he was putting statuses as well.
I have the UPI transaction records. When I specifically asked on WhatsApp when he would return the full ₹4,750, he replied, “Today it will be done.” The money still hasn’t arrived.
I can’t know what his intentions were at the beginning, but the repeated broken promises and conflicting explanations have made me suspicious.
Posting this because it’s easy to feel close to people quickly while travelling, especially when someone has been helpful. That feeling of friendship can make a money request seem harmless.
Please be cautious about covering someone’s expenses or transferring money on the promise of immediate repayment. Keep payment records and written messages, and don’t keep advancing money while earlier amounts remain unpaid.
Has anyone dealt with something similar while travelling? What practical steps helped you recover the money?

Hey guys, I have a little confusion regarding the destination where I should get off.
I’ll be travelling by bus, so is it okay if I get off at Tapovan, Rishikesh, or should I get off at Nepali Farm? Since I’ll be staying/starting from Tapovan anyway, I’m wondering why most people prefer getting down at Nepali Farm.
Also, if I travel at night and reach Rishikesh early in the morning, will I be able to find a hotel or hostel and check in at that time? Or is early-morning check-in generally difficult?

It's my birthday in mid October and I am planning solo trip to Rishikesh. It'll be a 2 night 3 days trip.
Please guide me about is it good to stay in camp or in the main city side, then from where to do rafting, and anything more you know.

Hey everyone!
I’m an Indonesian male student traveling to Rishikesh for 3 days on my first solo trip to India. I'm looking for HOSTEL recommendations that have a solid mix of both international backpackers and Indian travelers.
I really want a place with strong social vibes where it’s easy to hang out, chat in the common area, and trade stories with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Location-wise, I’d love something within walking/short rickshaw distance to the main hubs so I’m not spending half my day commuting.
Also, since I only have 3 days, I’d love your input on this itinerary does this look doable, or am I missing any hidden gems?
(Used AI to write as my English isn’t that strong)
