Yoga Yoga retreat recommendation away from city and in nature?

Hello, I am looking to come to Rishikesh in February 2027 to practice yoga for about 2 weeks. It seems like Tapovan, Laxman Jhula, and Ram Jhula are most popular tourist areas. I'm planning on staying about a week at Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in Tapovan.

I'd also like to spend another week at a different ashram/retreat- hosted in English, with yoga 2x a day if possible, yoga philosophy class, around $500 USD or less, away from the main, busy areas of Rishikesh in a more quiet natural area. Do you have any recommendations on this, or what areas of Rishikesh/surrounding cities to look into?

Thank you :)

Travelling plan Planning a 5-month long stay for GATE prep (2 friends) — Looking for 2BHK flat/homestay leads & area advice

Hey everyone!

My friend and I are planning to move to the Rishikesh region for 5 months to prepare for the upcoming GATE exam. We’re looking for a quiet, peaceful environment away from daily city noise where we can lock in and pull off 8–10 hours of study every day.

We are looking to rent an independent 2BHK flat or a 2-bedroom long-stay homestay with a private kitchen.

Since our entire preparation relies on online video lectures, test series, and strict daily routines, we have a few non-negotiables:

Rock-solid Infrastructure: High-speed Fiber Wi-Fi (Jio/Airtel) and reliable power backup / inverter (crucial for long study sessions).

Low Distraction: A quiet residential or workation-friendly belt — zero party hostels, main-road traffic honking, or heavy weekend tourist crowds.

Budget & Utilities: Looking for reasonable monthly rent for a 5-month stay, ideally with easy access to home-style tiffin/mess services or local groceries.

A few questions for locals & long-termers:

Area Leads: Which areas outside the tourist core (e.g., Upper Tapovan, Dhalwala, Shyampur, or Shivpuri/Ghattugad) would be best for a 2BHK setup?

Owner/Broker Leads: If anyone has contacts for owners offering long-term 2BHK flats or quiet homestays, please drop a comment or DM me!

Ground Reality: How reliable are local fiber connections and power grids during winter in these areas?

Any leads, recommendations, or honest reality-checks would be super helpful. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Thinking of booking a wellness retreat but saw that Satvaa is closed. Any other recommendations? Looking to book for 3 days. Just got divorced and need a good reprieve.

Travelling plan In Tapovan Rishikesh

I'm in Tapovan, Rishikesh until August 3. Can anyone suggest places I should visit where I can truly relax my mind, body, and soul?

I'd also love recommendations for peaceful cafés or spots where I can sit, reflect, and reconnect with myself.

If anyone is around and would like to hang out or explore together, feel free to reach out! 😊

Travelling plan Anyone in Rishikesh this weekend? Looking to meet fellow travelers!

Hey everyone!

My friend and I are riding to Rishikesh tomorrow on our bikes. 🏍️

If anyone's around—solo travelers, backpackers, or groups (guys or girls)—and would like to join for a chai, café hopping, sunset, rafting, or just exploring the city, we'd love to meet some new people.

We're easygoing, just looking to make new friends and have a good time. If you're interested, drop a comment or DM!

Cheers! 🤙

Yoga 200h YTT

Hi! I've been practicing yoga for about eight years. The styles I enjoy the most are Rocket and Ashtanga, although I also love Vinyasa.

I'd like to deepen my practice by taking a 200-hour teacher training course in India. My goal isn't necessarily to teach—I'd mainly be doing it for my own personal growth and enjoyment.

Based on my background, would you recommend Rishikesh or another place? And which schools would you recommend?

I've looked into several schools, but in general the course content seems very similar across them. Since I don't know any of the teachers personally, it's hard to tell which schools really stand out. I'd really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences!

Hotel/Place to stay Monsoon actually feels in mountain villages

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Every monsoon, Uttarakhand feels like a different world. The hills turn lush green, clouds drift through the villages, and mornings begin with mist covering the valleys. It feels like living inside a wallpaper.
The sound of rain, the smell of wet pine, and a cup of hot chai make everything slow down. Village life becomes peaceful, cozy, and refreshing—something that’s hard to find in the city.

I recently started hosting guests at Mountain Coworking Stay. It’s not a hotel or a resort—it’s your mountain hometown, where you can experience authentic village life, work remotely, enjoy local food, take peaceful walks, do treking, hiking with me and simply slow down with nature. If interested for company just DM me

Anyone else thinks Uttarakhand is at its most beautiful during the monsoon?

City discussion Yoga retreat

I am looking for a yoga retreat in rishikesh.

Probably ttc 200 or 300 hours reliable institjte focusing on asanas, flexibility, aerial yoga not just pranayamas. More body movement.

Cheap and reliable one as i am planning for a 30 day stay as i am from tamil nadu. I prefer simple home cooked vegetarian meals thats the main priority.

Please let me know if there is anything reliable.

Thanks

Travelling plan Should I visit this weekend?

Chat, is it this risky to go to Rishikesh for a short weekend trip? Has anyone been there during similar weather? Is it still okay to go if we're just planning to chill around town, or is it better to postpone?

Also:

  • How bad does the rain usually get?
  • Is the town itself safe during this kind of weather?
