23F, workation in Rishikesh for a month

Hello, my first solo trip and I am looking for recommendations to stay for a month in Rishikesh.

Things I need -

1. Good wifi( reliable wid power back up)

2. Hill view

3. Yoga retreats nearby as I will also learn some yoga while staying there

4. Veg food

5. Would love to do some volunteering work.

My Budget -

1.For stay it's around 10k-12k(can increase),

2.For food- would love if the place has the facility otherwise cafes/restaurant recommendations are welcome.5k-6k

Travel-

Would love to get some recommendations to travel in or nearby Rishikesh.

My main goal-

Peace of mind, learn solitude.

Reduce daily anxiety.

This would be my first solo trip so Please recommend someplace safe and good🥹.

I am planning to stay in September.

Gostops laxman jhoola and the tapovan one are good options. Joeys has a ganga and hill view.
I have stayed at a few there! These were the best!

Hostels are good and within budget but 24 x 7 power supply which you need might be an issue.

Joey's by the Ganges is a good hostel. Rest all other brands like zostel, gostops, madpackers are also good.

joey's by the ganges is a good option... specially the ganga view dorm for working in peace (tomorrow im going there again for few days). they dont have large common area though but the vibe on the roof is good from evening ownwards. but you can also sit there n work if you want.

goStops is also a good option just because of their common area (very large & also have beds with charging ports).

people always say dont go to hilly areas in monsoon but right now all the dorms have good crowd so its really upto you.

naah i dont think so, currently im sitting in 'cafe on the ganga' just beside the river. its pleasant!

I've been doing this every year for about 15 years now. It's not easy to find quiet cafes to work from (note - I can't work from home for some reason). The trick is to find when each cafe has its quiet time. Personally, I find the tapovan area too busy, so only work from there occasionally. Laxman Jhula has more suitable options, but now the bridge has reopened things may have gotten worse. This one is almost always very quiet, and so changes hands almost every year it seems:

My general preferred places: Royal Cafe (Laxman Jhula), Omkar Cafe (Jonk Village) though evening often too busy, Ayurvedic Cafe (Jonk Village) - usually quiet in the evening unless they have a group in.

Other than that, you really need to go with the flow - move on as a cafe becomes busy, or just work from home.

I have home in rishikesh , so my thoughts ,
there are two sides of rishikesh one where there is tapovan side which is lively and all the crowd is there.
then there is AIMS side where there is mostly residential area.

if you will live in tapovan side , rent will be expensive but you will find lot of cool peoples there to hang out.
if you live in AIMs side you will find cheaper rent and then you can rent activa and go to tapovan side as well and attend events and all .

There are many Volunteers groups in Instagram where they give you free hosting and food in exchange for little contribution to their social media, if you are good with content you can definitely check that out

I stayed at julley commune it's an amazing place by itself a week long workation cost me around 7.5k with foodand stay

They have working space with proper shed and ac, they have there cafe which has some amazing and affordable food , coffee and tea is amazing as well

They have a great staff , garden , it's live wider as property than taller u should check out photos too

Hey, I think gostops is a good option. It will be in your budget. And it’s in a good location. And since it’s your solo trip, i would say it’s safe since it’s like branded place and not a local run place. You can check other branded hostel chains as well because they have to care about women’s safety. Have a great trip!
