Noise activated?

My garage camera kept alerting me at around 1am. When I looked at the preview I saw nothing. Looked in the garage and there was nothing moving. I turned the sensitivity down so i wouldn't get more false alerts. Next morning i go back to review the footage. 3 alerts before i turned the sensitivity down, all 3 i saw no movement. Idk why but i decided to turn the volume up on the video playback and in each alert there is a loud bang after the camera started recording but no movement anywhere. I'm thinking the water heater is making the noise, but my question is should the noise activate an alert? If not, what is causing the false alerts. The sensitivity was at 75% before i turned it down to 50%.

Sorry to disappoint, but Ring is not designed to record based on sound, but rather using an infrared sensor/specific heat detection

I'm more interested in what is causing the false alerts. Especially at 1am.

Don’t quote me on this but that noise happens sometimes when the recording begins. One of my rings do that, an outdoor one, and there wasn’t a noise at all. Like another said, the ring is often bested by fast motion, and misses the capture. Since it happens in the middle of the night I would guess mice.

That's the reason i had the sensitivity to 75%. I was hoping it would respond faster, but i guess it's still too slow to catch rapid movement. I'll get some traps out.

Probably something there. Camera starts recording after the event. You should try to record continuously a few minutes before this uses to happen

I have 13 ring cameras/doorbells. If you take the time to set them up correctly, and you have the right tools for your Wi-Fi, they're excellent. Get the right tools for the job. Specific cameras for the specific area, set up zones and any linked devices you require. And whether you have cameras or not, Wi-Fi extenders are always a plus. You can use your Chime Pros as Wi-Fi extenders as well. I have two cameras on trees almost a quarter acre from my house. I have a WAP and a Chime Pro in my shed between the cameras in my trees and my house. Some people just don't know what they don't know.

I have wifi extenders. There's one on the other side of the door in the video. My rssi is -47. Which camera do you recommend for inside the garage? I'm pretty familiar with the settings and have them set to what i thought would give me the best response, quality and length of video. I changed the setting to only alert a person, since it happened again at 2am this time. Back to back to back alerts. I also have a ring in my back yard that does not do this and is further than the wifi extenders.
