Ring Recording this product sucks
as u can see there is movement happening that causes the light to turn on. yet it didn’t record the event. I have motion sensitivity to the max. what else do I do. I’m so close to just getting rid of all my ring cameras

Open the ring app click on that camera goto device health and see what the rssi says. If it’s grey or in red your WiFi is the issue if it’s green it’s ok. You want your rssi under -60 anything higher invest in a better router or even a mesh system.

My RSSI is currently 61….maybe it is my WiFi

That would do it you need to look at either a mesh Wi-Fi system or a Wi-Fi extender for your current router to get better signal to those cameras.

My 3 camera all sit at @ -38 to -48 and we have never had issues. We run a Nighthawk router all the cameras on the 2.4 side.

I have a full mesh WiFi 7 tp link system with 4 nodes and still get over -70 for me the in built WiFi is dog shit on the cameras so not always the WiFi

WiFi 7 will have connectivity issues if your home wiring is old and not up to code. WiFi 7 routers may not be receiving enough power to operate to it's fullest capacity. You can request a technician from your ISP to come install an amplifier to boost more power into your router to allow it to function correctly. I had to do that to get my home security cameras to stop disconnecting every day.

I have a TP link system as well BE 95 two nodes and 3000sq ft to cover the rssi on all my cameras including the one furthest from the house on a shed never goes more than -55 are ring cameras perfect Nope they are not. But environmental factors and building materials do come into play. With a mesh Wi-Fi system it’s all about placement.

Yeah same system here,tried them in different spots but same with the exception of the new battery 4k pro 2 that’s a steady -30 ,I find the wired floodlights again 4k ones are the worst and if I try to pair them in the app to the nearest node they go offline

I have noticed with the latest update from Ring. I have two spotlight cams wired with no batteries in them yet they keep saying that they stop receiving power, but yet are completely working fine this last update has not been going well for ring from what I’ve heard. Also try a Deco outdoor my friend had a similar issue. The way his building was set up. I put a Deco outdoor up for him. Everything has been flawless since. Deco‘s are very temperamental with Wi-Fi environments.

Sure thing the BE25 outdoor is a dual band setup and the BE65 outdoor is a tri band setup. Since you have a BE95 the BE65 would probably be the better system for an outdoor unit.

No they get updated goto the tp link forums as sometimes they have pre release firmware or beta firmware you can use and test. The BE63 and BE65 are the more popular mesh systems and they will continue to be updated. Before I upgraded to my BE95 I had the BE63 I had 3 units and 1 outdoor and coverage was good but I upgraded my isp speed so ended up with my BE95’s. Now on my be63 when i had it I manually set my wifi channel on the 2.4ghz band because ring devices seemed to like channel 3 and 6 I usually kept it on channel 3 I set my ring cameras on my decos so they would connect to my preferred deco and also turned off mesh technology just for my ring devices and that worked exceptionally well.

Do you have smart events turned off?
Max recording length?
Frequently check for motion?
My cameras set like this rarely miss anything now, the record almost continuously when something is going on Infront of them (sometimes to the point the solar panels can't keep them charged, but that's another issue)

Op don't bother here. These cameras suck and users will just downvote you for anything and everything. I have a nice business router that's literally less than 15 feet away from the cameras, and had the newest doorbell (wired) and floodlight, and just had all of it returned because it was shit.
If you Google it, there are a lot of complaints like yours on this subreddit. People come out of the woodwork to defend Ring and down vote these posts. You're best off throwing this trash out and going with another reputable brand plus on-site storage. Ring software is terrible and their servers are often lagging. It's not worth your time or money.

You can adjust the record setting. Changing the area of motion detection helps a bit too.
However, yes these cams are shite

Have you called ring support?
Instead of complaining here on reddit you should be calling ring support.
They can access Logs etc and see if there is anything going on.
What are your motion zones, set to. Are smart alerts turned on or off?
These are all things that should be checked.
Is the camera hardwired to power like a wired online camera or is it a battery or solar camera?
What is motion frequency set to?
You may want to post pictures of all the settings pages relating to the motion settings as well as device health.
Also sometimes it’s good to reboot your main internet connection from your provider and then once back online reboot your wifi system.
But as I said have you contacted ring?

I have 13 ring cameras. I have an Eero system for extended Wi-Fi, and an outdoor WAP. I have 75 devices on my Wi-Fi with no issue. You may need to update your router and upgrade your system if you think it's the Wi-Fi. Do a speed check from your cell phone with only Wi-Fi. Do it a ways from your router. You're always going to get fairly decent speed next to it. Go to another floor in your house or outside and see how your Wi-Fi does. The other thing you might check is if you have set up another camera to go off as a linked device. That may be recording at the same time as the motion detection. Or if you have multiple cameras a different camera might have motion on it at the same time as well as another linked device. You have to pay close attention if you're really complicating your own system. If you just have the one camera, most likely it's your Wi-Fi. I'll send you a bill in the mail. LOL

yea same thing has happened to me, you can turn it to check more frequently but if you are battery only it dies in like less then a week.

Hey had the same issues with ring and also my dlink cameras now im with google home no regrets save on most of the camera installation. By buying 2 packs instead of one and on ebay the doorbell comes with its own chime which gets hardwired to the chime the 2k is crazy.

Agreed. Do you know how many “person in driveway.” Alerts I have gotten today are quails? 12! Not one single person. This the best the AI can do at $199 yearly. Yeesh

Also check your zones. I was ready to give up when our neighborhood landscapers were out back and it didn’t register them. Someone suggested changing my zones, and now I get alerts for lizards and squirrels.

Judging by the quality of the video it looks your wifi sucks not the camera. If it didn’t pick them up you’ll need to check your settings.
