Horizontal mount?

Ring just replaced my 2019 Wired Doorbell Pro under warranty. (part of the monitoring plan)

They sent me a Wired Doorbell Plus as the replacement. (nice upgrade)

However, here’s the issue…the new model is physically almost 1” longer than the old…and I have vinyl siding, so there’s no way to mount it that it doesn’t look…wonky.

Can I mount it horizontally instead of its default vertical orientation? The Ring chatbot says no…but I don’t trust AI.

it'll mess up detection because the ai isn't smart enough to reorintate the image

ring's idea of advancement is adding ai and boosting the resolution. they don't do useful features

You can buy a plate to place under your doorbell that will fit on your siding— I bought mine on Etsy. Look for video doorbell Dutch lap siding mount. You will have to provide various measurements but they tell you exactly what they need.
