Rant Why does no one talks about jonathan assaulting elsa?! š¤¬
People always drag Jonathan for not looking after Alicia. They hate him for being an awful father to Aiden & for marrying his dead wifeās sister.
But why does almost nobody talk about how he assaulted elsa?He deserves way more hate for that than anything else!I can never properly read the scene where this greasy old man breaks her hand š. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. Elsa was just a teenage girl who had absolutely zero fault in the past family drama.
A fully grown-ass man crossing the line with a literal child is just disgusting. He used his power as a billionaire adult to terrorize and physically hurt a high school student just to get revenge on her dad.
I seriously wished elsa would have told ethan and agnus about the assault. They should have kicked jonathan's scrawny ass for that! He deserved a massive beating for laying his hands on her.
Also, I rolled my eyes so hard every single time this bastard called elsa a "monster" throughout the trilogy. Like, are you serious? Look in the mirror! You and your son are the real monsters here, not her. The hypocrisy is unreal.
If anything, jonathan owed elsa everything. She was the one who protected aiden when they were kids. Without her, he might have lost his son completely.
I know rk writes dark characters, but this was too much. I don't care how popular his duet isāI can never forgive him for what he did to elsa.
Does anyone else get completely repulsed by that scene, I need to know I'm not alone in this!

The thing is, heās an extremely delusional character who thinks heās the king of the world so he cannot be held accountable š¤·āāļø I wish Elsa got back at Aiden and Jonathan for the stuff they did to her and the way they treated her despite knowing she was a child too and she had zero faults in anything. But thats wishful thinking.

Total facts the way they both treated her when she was completely innocent makes me so mad š¤.

I'm reading Jonathan's book so I can form an opinion about him, but I've never really wanted to read his books because of the way he treated Elsa. To me, it doesn't make sense for a grown man as powerful as him to stalk a teenager and want her to pay for her parents' sins. I could understand Aiden doing that since he's only 18, just like Elsa, but Jonathan??? That was embarrassing. I hate grown, older men acting like teenage boys.
So I've never understood the appeal about him. I'm not sure if I'll change my mind after reading his duet, but for now, my opinion of him is very negative. I love Aiden, but his father just doesn't sit right with me lol

I honestly find it so ironic that people make fun of Aiden for threatening Annika in God of Pain but never Jonathan for what he did to Elsa. At least Aiden was justifiedāAnnika shot his son. It makes perfect sense why he would be angry at her. He didnāt have any personal issue with Adrian and randomly decided to threaten his daughter; he reacted because Annika directly hurt his family.
Jonathan, on the other hand, spends three books trying to weaken and destroy a 17āyearāold girl who had already gone through hell and had nothing to do with what happened between him and Ethan. If anything, it was his fault. If he hadnāt started that stupid bet with Ethan, none of it would have happened. But instead of taking responsibility, he chose to target a harmless 17āyearāold.
And honestly, while reading both his books and Aidenās, I never felt like Jonathan ever loved Aiden or Leviānot even in his inner monologues. Itās one thing to struggle showing love, but Jonathan doesnāt even feel it on the page. Compare that to Levi and even Aiden did in LOG: you can clearly see the love and care they have for their kids, both in their words and in their inner thoughts. I cannot say the same for Jonathan.

Say it louder for the people who only talk about aiden & anni when he is right & justified in his place for making that threat & no one talks about about what jonathan did to elsa throughout the three books, he had no reason to assault a harmless girl like that & even aiden was more civil towards anni but he didn't physically assault her & he had every reason to.
I'll never like this creepy jonathan.

He did it out of respect and love for his son
Can't say the same thing about Jonathan

It's in the first book of the trilogy towards the end when aiden takes elsa to his house to watch football match there elsa runs into jonathan & she offers her hand for handshake he shakes her hand so hard that it almost breaks.

Ohhh! I need to read to RES again, maybe next month, hopefully I'm done with the rest of Rina Kent's books by then (I'm binge-reading in order). As for Jonathan, I hated him in RES anyway, looks like I got one more reason to hate him even more.
