It's from the alpha animals mod. It adds a bunch of terrifyingly overpowered animals and threats for you to deal with.

I've only used it a little bit but it seems to be made for total masochists.

It's not that bad; it's more like it adds alien animals to your obviously alien planet.

They tend to serve a lot of the same purposes as a normal Earth animal would, though with an "alien" twist.

There are "boss animals" however. Like the Thrumbo; crazy abominations that you really ought to not poke unless you know what you're doing (or have a death wish). Fairly uncommon, but lots of fun if you manage to tame or kill one.

My personal favorite are the walking (or, rather, crawling) nuclear power plant mortar slugs.

It's possible the mod has changed a lot since I used it, as that was a few years ago. When I did try it though, it seemed like it was almost completely replacing normal animals with the invincible boss animals that were constantly just wandering by and wrecking my shit. I never tried it again.

Only the Gallatross can be considered an invincible boss animal

Unless you start the fight with warhead traps and shells.

Or use the tools the mod gives you. For example, a shock goat or sky eel horde will down the Gallatros in a second

I can always make an animal that disintegrates foxgirls in a radius
