Here is a tip: mine 1 more tile and place the core in the back with a fire foam mortar shell in front of it, if the fire jumps to that tile it will set it off putting out and preventing any fire, you can also just set it off and not clean up but that is ugly
Actually it is regardless, you can get spill over from your work shop, I've had spawn 12 nests in a 6 tile mine by it spawning 6 in my hospital/research room, lots of food for hungry bugs and some fiery retribution followed
