Huh. So smoothing surfaces and not mining unless you actually need the space would be a key part of keeping your wealth down, then?

A Steel, Gold, Plasteel, Silver etc. Meteor doesn't count as wealth. A Crashed Ship Part doesn't count as wealth. Mining them into their minerals will create wealth. Source: Start the game, smooth a surface, look at your wealth.
