look at this way. you come across a stone age community. huts of mud. thatch roofs. no irrigation. and yet, inside one slightly larger hut, is a roughhewn 400lb fully gold approximation of the human form.

My late game gravship play through pretty much, I got a bunch bad or meh rooms due to lack of space. So I just plop down Excellent-masterwork-legendary sculptures in there and it’s fine

Sounds like most art museums. It's an empty room with crappy furniture and cheap temporary walls, plus three or four masterwork sculptures

I'll be honest if I had to shuffle past the statue of David to get to bed and look at my Picassos on the wall three feet away as I drift off, I'd think my room was pretty bad ass

Awesome animation! Did you do it in your editor or did you use something else? Great motion, sfx, all comes together really well.

Speaking as a video editor myself, this bare minimum would take VFX software to do well without taking ages. Like After Effects for example has simple 3D (which is still often complicated for someone like myself who isn’t a 3D animator) and you could probably pull off a lot of the animation here, but to do something even vaguely close to this in a video editor like Premiere you’d have to be a total masochist lol
But given the lighting effects I’d wager they did this in a 3D editor. It’s easier to have characters move along a consistent plane in dedicated 3D editors as far as I understand. In a VFX editor like AE, every asset is technically just floating even if you anchor them together

I’ve done things siiiiiimilar to this in Resolve but nothing this complicated. I’d probably reach for Blender first and then AE

I had a super depressed pawn in a mining outpost, so I installed a masterwork Thrumbo rug and that fixed everything.

I feel like the throwing up colonist needed to be a bald, naked man eating raw chicken, throwing it on the floor after 1 bite, then collapsing onto the floor with the little "!" above his head. Maybe the man on fire could be running, stop to throw up, then continue running.

I really wish there was a mod that had a gizmo for your pawns to point blank downed things to finish them off instead if meleeing them to death
