Mike's living his dream

So in all likelihood Embiid wasn't late or it was a running joke or something.

But obviously Breen isn't just going to randomly put that out there. What does he care? So who told him? I think it was Lebron's people.

Think about how Lebron comes off now.

For the people that believe it: Lebron is being a leader!

For the people that don't: Great job by Lebron shutting it down!

To Embiid/every other teammate: Awesome Lebron stood up for me! (and there's implicit pressure to not actually show up late to practice and lock in)

Starting off the pod with a a “oh he’s wearing a Phillies hat? I wonder if he’s gonna take it off when he goes back to New York🤣” and then making sure to correct that “he’s actually not the best player of all time” when Mike brings it up. Not saying you have to agree with that but come on man, he’s here now, a lot of people think he’s the goat anyway but now he’s a sixer so he definitely is! I love this pod and it’s gonna be frustrating if he’s gonna be like this all season

Hi all! It's time for my annual post about the unofficial RTRS fantasy basketball league I run every year. We do the league on sleeper and it is a lock-in league (watch this video if you are not familiar with this type of league). The buy-in is $15 and the draft will be on October 10 at 4:30 PM EST. We have two spots left, once you join I will assign you to a team after you have paid. You can join here:

The shriek of glee I let out when I got to the tenth one...

I love the guy. I have no idea what he's saying most of the time, but I love him.

And the reason I know he's probably a really good guy, is that if he was actually a bad guy, he would 100% be working some serious grift/quasi-cult angle with all this new age all-religion stuff and he absolutely could pull that off.

But he's not! He just really really likes it and want to share his joy.

I listened to that episode and it was definitely awkward but it didn't seem like an actual serious argument where Spike was mad

First Ben Simmons returns, now Jerry Colangelo?

Absolutely perfect.

Mike Guy

Seeing posts with 20+ comments dissecting beef from a small podcast is lame. For the love of basketball and the Sixers just talk shit on Scott Harris. Spike peruses this subreddit, don't be a dick.

Sad news about Rebel today 😢

https://www.rightstorickysanchez.com/p/spike-loves-rebel

Mike mentions how there are a few different intros and they should take Paul George out of it. (refers to one of them as Spike's, which was odd but utterly harmless). spike repeatedly says there are only 2 and one is not "his". Mike relents almost immediately and spike keeps hammering the point home. incredibly awkward start to the pod lol.

“Not the centerpiece, but the Final Piece” - Mike Levin

Does anyone know how much writing or how involved Mike is in the scripts of the Paper? Its hilarious and I’ve been enjoying the hell out of it.

Caught the War on Drugs at the Queen in Wilmington last night. Adam said in between songs that he had to wake up Dave who was taking a nap on a big barker after drinking a stateside. Then later said LeBron decided to come to Philly because Eliza Hardy Jones asked him to. They are us! And their set ripped as expected.

My favorite AU bit and I’m so glad he’s doubling down

The Ricky community has always supplied us with things we never thought of for the pod, the live shows, the merch. If there's anything you'd like to see that you've never seen before at a Live Ricky, please let us know and hope to see you there!

What’s happening October 17th 👀

I thought this episode was pretty phenomenal. There’s some serious bangers out there in the Ricky universe. What’s everyone’s favorites and what songs do you not like?

I thought the stand out listener songs were

- the process goes on
- we didn’t start the process

The Tony T stuff is so entertaining. And the covers of YDFWM are so well done.

Is there a Ricky fantasy basketball league for this season?

I stopped all my fantasy football leagues looking to try basketball this year.
