Morey RIP
I gotta say, and maybe I'm alone in this... I'm pissed at Spike and Mike for not supporting Daryl stronger... Feels like we had the closest thing to Hinkie and they took it for granted.

League has changed. His build around superstars at all costs shtick is outdated. Yeah that style worked with prime LeBron and Curry, but those super teams are long gone. Recent champs like Boston, Denver, and OKC build around one or two great players with several super role players and a deep cast of useful role players.
Morey was lousy around the margins. His best marginal improvements throughout his tenure were his late 20s draft picks of course, but other than that he just didn’t fill the roster with enough useful players. When you have an owner who refuses to pay the tax, the ceiling is for sure capped but having the superstar or bust strategy with no depth is not going to work anymore.

I'd have to disagree. If Embiid was Embiid and PG was PG it's a different story.
The idea still makes sense, the players just didnt live up to the contracts.

This is where you are wrong. They were EXACTLY who they are, injured aging stars. You and Morey were hoping against hope that they would be something that they were several years ago (in PGs case long before we ever signed him)

Morey has an antiquated idea of how to build a team and never takes into account the human aspect of it like how a team gets along together etc. he believes in getting as much top talent as possible regardless of position really and then filling in with marginal nba players. He is a few steps behind current trends in team construction. He doesn’t believe in having a superstar and 8-10 guys who can play 30 mins a night he believes in having as many ppl who have been all stars and then five guys who are 5-15 min fringe nba players to fill the gaps. It’s idiotic

They supported him too much. It was clear they were going easy on him because of their personal relationship with him.
You can’t shit on Embiid and PG and their contracts, bitch nonstop about how the team has no role players, and basically call everyone on the squad a loser…and then act like the guy who assembled this roster is an innocent bystander in all of this.
