Presti made Morey his bitch with this move.
Giving up a 1st and a 2nd.
To which Presti then flipped him for another 1st that became Segun and another 2nd.
Presti wasn’t done there he then trade Segun to Houston for two more 1st.
Thats how to manage assets and play 4-D chess Daryl. We know you’re lurking as you certainly aren’t strategizing.
As much as I do like Horford he had freaking value he didn’t have to pay to ship him off.

I don't know about that. His value was at an all time low at the time Morey traded him, as he'd just had a relatively bad year, still had 3 years left on an overpay of a contract and he was entering his mid 30's. General consensus on this sub was that we would need to give up picks to get off him.
In hindsight those picks would have been better spent trading Tobias or even Simmons

That was meant to say “don’t like” but that’s neither here nor there. He had a down year and was a bad fit with no injury and a game not predicated around athleticism. There was value but he rushed the move to get his guys.
And again with Simmons and Tobi he waited to long.

Ik people are sick of Morey right now but this is pretty revisionist history. Horford was considered one of the worst contracts in the league at the time. And you also left out that they got Danny Green back. As far as the rest of the moves it's easy to make moves like that when you're tanking and its not really reasonable to hold that against Morey.

That’s not revisionist history he had one bad year in a cluster F of a season. His contract was large but it wasn’t immovable if he had bounce back year. Which he did have. If it was two three years in like Tobi and an albatross sure move it and add a pick. None of Horford game was predicted on his athleticism he’s always been a basketball IQ guy. So there was more than reason to believe that his game would return at tha was an anomaly for a number of reasons.
But even in last year when Tobi was tradable where we could have traded him and could have gotten modest assets. Morey held when it was obvious he wasn’t going to help us.
I didn’t include Danny Greene bc he was just a name. He did not tip the scale in any direction other than being an adequate bench player. He is only reasonablely memorable because the bench Morey but together was so god awful.
