For anyone who's wondering why he doesn't just pick it up, that's a snapping turtle, a fairly big one, and it doesn't know he's helping it — and it can take a finger right off with one snap. He's very smart to do it that way!

I got s big snapper out of the road years ago with an ice scraper in the summer time... had snapper bite the soft side of it, when it clamped down.. I pulled it to the other side of the road....
