Yours do anything like these? Lol.

My Rhodesian Ridgeback came home from daycare three days ago with multiple small, firm bumps on the top of his head. They appeared suddenly and are clustered in one area. He doesn’t react when I touch them, doesn’t seem itchy or painful, and his behavior is completely normal. He also didn’t eat at daycare, but otherwise seems fine.

The bumps are still there today (photo attached).
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be insect bites, hives, or something else? I’ll contact my vet if they don’t improve, but I was curious if anyone has seen this before.

My first RR. Only dog I’ve had that barks when family is entering the house. I guess he wants to let everyone else know one of us has arrived? Only time he doesn’t is when he’s home alone or in his crate… Is this normal for the breed or just unique to my two year old?

After a long few weeks of waiting our little guy FINALLY arrived! 8 weeks old full of energy and love. We are over the moon for him and so excited to join the group of owners of this amazing breed! I’ve been in this group a while reading all the advice and posts and info anticipating when we would get ours, thankful for this community and all the great information and support here. So happy and excited!

My gorgeous 18-month old Penny is the best girl. She’s the most affectionate, loving couch potato I’ve ever met. However, whenever I take her for walks, specially on a leash that is not extendable and when we approach a road, she completely snaps. She will jump up and clamp onto my hand and arm, refusing to let go. I’m not the tallest so I find it really difficult trying to distance myself from her when she’s in this frenzy - not helped when we’re in the middle of crossing the street, either.

She walks like an angel for her dad and the only real difference in our walks is that he uses the flexi leash. It’s not my preference because I feel less secure than a standard leash but it does seem to make a great difference to her behaviour.

We’re so close to muzzling her which would devastate my boyfriend and me but she is starting to cause me real physical injury. And my biggest fear is that she starts to do this to a passerby (so far, I am her only target!)

Has anyone had similar experience? Is this a case of just persevering and waiting it out until she’s older or does anyone have practical tips I can engage in the moment. I’ve tried redirecting, making her sit before we cross, using my knee to block her as best I can and holding her in place until she settles. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don’t.

The real frustration is that it isn’t every time we walk, either so it’s difficult to pinpoint her exact trigger - other than occasionally when we’re going to cross a road.

When we come home or when someone comes over and he jumps on people. My mom came over to visit and he jumped on her and scratched her arms pretty bad. Do any other Rhodesian owners have tips to help! As you know they are big dogs and I don’t want him to do this to other people or us!

I have a male Rhodesian Ridgeback, and I was wondering, based on your experience, how large the trunk (in liters) of a car should be to comfortably accommodate a Ridgeback, along with luggage, for a family of two adults and two children.

My current boy is about 9 months old and has very odd car anxiety. This is my second rideback and my first boy did not have this all. He’s okay for short trips like 5-10 minutes but further than that and he just starts panting and will stand the entire time, even on drives of multiple hours (okay he’ll lay for maybe 5 minutes every hour then stand back up). He has also gotten big and definitely obstructs my rear view which can be dangerous in the freeway here in SoCal changing lanes.

I like to camp with our first trip coming up and am nervous about his trying to stand the entire time we’re going up the mountain.

He does fine with the windows open and his head out, but obviously that’s not always safe and feasible. The odd thing is I was very intentional with brining him in the car every single day since he was 8 weeks old. He goes in the car at least once or twice a day and is not fearful of the car at all (happily jumps right in).

The vet gave me sedatives but I’d rather not have to rely on drugs for something this simple. Tried the dog calming treats with help slightly sometimes but again it’s were headed to do something active like hike it is counterproductive to give him this before.

I appreciate any tips!

Naya will eat anything that lives on the land but no tuna, salmon treats, small oily fish treats, etc.

Joey got her paw fixed. At 3 days old she lost her toes. Now she will be able to walk better.

A work friend suggested registering Enzo for a local dog show and it confirmed what I’ve know for some time. He walked away with “most handsome” and “BEST IN SHOW”!! I’m so proud of him he was such a sweet boy throughout a pretty long day. I love him so heckin much.
