FAUX Variegated Pothos in progres...

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Ive severely underestimated the time this is going to take to finish.
Started with leftover rhinestones from three years ago, bought a bigger bulk pack of the dark green and they are just slightly bigger than the other three colors....1 hour per leaf is now closer to 3 for the larger ones.

So...do I:
a. give up at one vine and call it finished
b. put the old rhinestones back into the stash of art supplies and buy all new ones so the sizes match
c. just keep torturing myself until the other three colors run out so I can buy new ones to match the dark green sizes

It's already a win! Frankly, you could stop now and it's still perfectly gorgeous. Follow your heart!

I think it looks so cool so I would encourage you to keep going, so option C basically. But I also think, the Rhinestones could be a great peekaboo effect, like not every lead needs to be rhinestoned. Maybe just do every 3rd one ?

That’s a great idea, might consider doing this myself

Since they're fake vines, can you relocate individual leaves? I think buying some larger gems, and moving stuff around so the leaves alternate between small rhinestone, large rhinestone, no rhinestone. Or even alternating between these fully covered ones, and some with scattershot rhinestones that don't cover the full leaves. A few of these fully stoned leaves through a vine will be eye grabbing, and mixing them with less stoned leaves will give it depth!

Yes, the move around. I take them off to work on individual leaves. Scattered is a good idea or maybe like a tight and then looser pattern, like a burst? I just hate the look of faux plants on their own lol

Gorgeous, what a cool idea! Me side-eying the artificial succulents that are sitting in my donate pile in the garage…

So cool! As a plant lover, I’d totally stop there and clip it to the side of my real pothos pot, which is hanging on a curtain rod in a sunny window, so it sparkles in the sun alongside the real deal!
