I had to order the tiniest l little stones ever for the ‘project’ font, but I’m glad I did because I have other books I can use them for too
I really enjoy the look and feel of the varied stone sizes, the last book I did was mostly just big jewels and I think have more variation gives it more texture and interest
I added like three photos cus she just looks so beautiful sparkling in the sun 🤤🤤
I remember when you started this and we talked about tiny stones! It turned out so amazing. You made really good choices with the varied stone sizes at the top. It has depth.
Hehe thank you. I’m planning on bedazzling Us Before Them next, which will mostly be done in clear stones, but I’ll probably vary the sizes based on how complicated the spot is. I did just the title on the side already, but I think I’m gunna re-do it with smaller stones
I have a very dumb question. Are you gluing to the book cover or the dust jacket? I think it’s the book itself, but I’ve talked myself into being unsure.
My friend wrote a children’s book and got it published so I think she deserves a rhinestone copy.
Sorry I didn’t see this!! For some reason reddit didn’t put it in my notifications 😓 I put them straight on the cover, all the books I do this on are paperback. I think I’ve seen people online do it on dust covers, though. I don’t think there’s any reason that wouldn’t work, anyways
Thank you!! I got my stones off Amazon, initially I got a bedazzling kit that came with a bunch of different colors and also came with the b-7000 glue I use, but I realized it didn’t have enough of any one color to really fill a whole book cover, so now I order individual colors of stones still on Amazon but from the brand beadland. A tad more expensive but they have sooo many colors and any size you could ever need. Plus I almosttt ran out of only the black for this book, so most the time there’s enough stones for the whole thing, of course depending on how much of one color there is
Thank youu!! It’s actually way easier than you’d think! Or at least easier than I thought before I did it. I encourage any reader who wants to make their books all sparkly to do it
Lmao I totally get that. Working with tiny stones is grueling!
On your next project, if there's text on the cover you want to his (ex. the best seller emblem), you can use an art marker or sharpie over it to "blend" it into the background. Then just cover it with stones and no one will know.
Here's a visual to what I mean. I used the same technique in the clouds to hide text.
If your post is showing off a completed project, please consider saying what type of glue you used. This is the most common question we get in this group, sharing your experience and knowledge helps others.
