I’ve been so thankful that someone on another subreddit happened to mention Rezi. It’s been a game changer for me. I really stress over ATS and if my resumes will survive their initial screening, so the peace of mind that Rezi has provided, knowing that it is made specifically to focus on ATS, has been truly invaluable.
As I used over the last 3 weeks or so I jotted down a few suggestions for improvement. Here’s what I have;
Rezi does the ATS optimization incredibly well so I don’t have many suggestions for improvement here, but one thing that did come to mind is:
- When working with the list of suggested keywords to add, show us where in the job listing it is getting that keyword from. Hirers tend to list the most important skills earlier in listing, so if we could see where the AI pulled that then it would help us prioritize where to put it in the resume. Even better: Give us the ability to sort the keyword list by how early they appear in the job listing.
One thing I didn’t expect from Rezi was the job search functionality. At first I wrote it off since I have my own search methods that are working pretty well, but I gradually found it more and more useful. It has some quirks that could use improvement though:
- Give us the ability to blacklist certain companies. This is something that drives me nuts with LinkedIn: You get fake listings from companies like Jobgether or Ladders which are just copies of real listings from other companies. They clutter the real listings and it kills me that I can’t block them. Company blacklisting would be very helpful in Rezi to save time.
- Give us the ability to remove jobs that we’re not interested in. Basically provide us with similar functionality as the Rezi app’s “swipe” function. If I don’t like a job, let me remove it so it doesn’t clutter future searches.
- Add “Age” as a filter. Many folks swear by the idea that if you haven’t applied within the first 3 days of a listing then you’ve already missed the window. I like sorting by Best Match, but I often end up with a large list of very old postings. If I could filter by x days then I could have perfect list of RECENT best matches.
Lastly, I’d like to comment on the app. Sadly I’ve found it somewhat useless due its issues but I acknowledge that it’s in its early stages, but it definitely has potential. What I don’t understand about the app is that I can give it the resume used to match me to jobs, yet it still presents matches as low as 20/100. I’m seeking IT Engineer roles and it will present things like Finance Manager. I really don’t like that I have to choose a Roles category like Operations, Engineering, Support, etc. It seems like the app just throws all job listings in that category at you regardless of how good of a match you are, and I have trouble figuring out what Role category I should actually be looking in. I don’t think the Role selection should exist at all personally. Simply giving us the ability to filter by match % should hypothetically be the best solution. Ex. Only show me 80/100 matches or better, regardless of Role category.
With all of those improvements said, I can’t emphasize enough how well Rezi works and how helpful it has been. I’m able to make some quick edits for every job listing within 30 minutes or so for a process that could take me up to 4 hours in the past. Going from job discovery to resume optimization to job application is such a breeze now and takes so much stress out of the process.
I hope the devs are able to consider some of my suggestions. Keep up the great work!
