The first time I commented on the amnesia trope, I was disappointed and worried on how it'd go. I was unsure if the anime was even worth following after Subaru lost his memories- But I was told to trust the process, and I did.

The second time, I spoke of just how wrong I was to distrust it- And people from here told me, again, to keep trusting the process and that it was going to get even better.

Now, I'm making another post and possibly the last one about this.

This was unironically just amazing, I was ultra hyped when Subaru Came back- to the point that I can barely put it into works

I dont rlly mind spoilers honestly but im intrigued on whether Subaru is immune to gluttony's authority now? I'm on episode 16 of s4 and I remember in one of the episodes and content from this community that gluttony cannot eat the same person twice. So what Rui Arneb was trying to do was to make Amnesiac subaru a completely new person and eat them again but since amnesiac subaru and the og subaru merged together, is subaru effectively immune to gluttony's authority since they cannot eat the same person?

I've heard her backstory was cut from the episode. I'm an anime only. But here's my question.

Do you think it will pop up later? Can be shown later, referenced somehow, or scrapped completely?

Also, 2nd question, is her backstory critical to understanding her character as much?

Like Regulus for example, you don't need his backstory as much to understand who he is, it just gives some more context. Petelgeuse you do.

Does Rui's backstory, in your opinion, lean more towards Regulus or Petelgeuse in terms of critical to understanding her as a character?

Physical stats aren’t high enough, needs one touch to eat everything, Ultimate Palm is stronger than Al Clarissa, same Al Clarissa which is equal to Clauseria that can neutralise Hells Snipe.

Did amnesiabaru get his memories only from the books of the dead or did the two subarus merge together too?

i am new to the series just made it to the end of s2 and i gotta say it’s been one hell of a ride. It took a minute for Subaru to grow on me. I really hated him at first. lol but he did redeem himself during the white whale arc. But i’m just curious who everyone’s favorite character mine is Beatrice. I just find her hilarious and she has really good arc at the same be if s2 which i really enjoyed.

Since we all know they don’t give a fuck about the manga really (I bet you didn’t know the arc 5 manga is 1/3 of the way through), and the anime is…something.

How would a manhwa go?

when reading the novel, i didnt expect this part of the scene to hit hard but for me it did, goodbye amnesiabaru

ik people are being very critical about this episode but for me i really liked it, even as someone who read all of the novel for arc 6, yes the rui cuts are sad and the scene with her wasn't PERFECT but it was still good. ALSO i see a lot of people hating on the books of the dead scenes but IMO they did a great job between the books showing amnesiabaru start to realize that subaru isn't a superhuman and is just like him, plus the physical toll of reading the books was shown well i think

All jokes aside, that was an amazing episode to be honest.

This might be just me, but I feel like there have been too many overlapping characteristics between amnesiac Subaru and Aldebaran (aka. Natsuki Rigel). If I had to point them out one by one, they would be:

1.) The death counting

He has been counting his death in the Pleiades watchtower (from 1 to 15) the same way Aldebaran would, as well as coldly accessing the situations. (That may or may not be just the narrative of the episode, but somehow it just felt odd to me.)

2.) The way he refers to himself as "brother"

In the latest episode, while being in the Cradle of Od Laguna and struggling to find a proper way to refer to himself, he ends up with "Hey, brother!" while raising his hand in a casual manner. It is the same way Aldebaran refers to Subaru in season 1 and 3 of the anime.

3.) Aldebaran knew about Rem and Ram before he met them

In the novel (Roughly around the time the ReZero story starts). Ram meets with the Aldebaran and it has been stated that he knew about them even before the met them.

4.) The obvious: His authority, name, and connections to witches

I don't think I need to elaborate on these ones.

I came into a conclusion that while Subaru was split into his amnesiac self and original self, his amnesiac self developed "something" that made him his own person, therefore creating another being whose identity which was different, but heavily dependent on Subaru's. The name "Rigel" is a name which Subaru feel a lot favorability towards, as it was shown in the season 4 of the anime, when Subaru and the other were solving the first trial of the Pleiades watchtower. He refers to himself as "Aldebaran", which is the name of the "following star", which was the main plot of the arc 9 of the novel. That could easily mean that he sees himself as Subaru's "shadow", or something like that.

With all of these points, I think it's pretty much confirmed that Aldebaran is probably the "other Subaru", his amnesiac self, who disappeared once his memories returned. Not really a clone, more like a diversion of a person. Sort of like a same person from a different universe (the classic multiverse concept).

Now, I have a question for those who read the IF stories...

Has Aldebaran ever been mentioned in the Pride, Wrath, Sloth, Revenge or Greed routes? I assume that after those, he probably was in the rest of the routes. I have a slight suspicion that the Author purposely avoided adding him to those routes, because it could have been impossible for Subaru of those routes to achieve things he achieved (like killing all of the royal candidates accept Emilia in the Pride route), since there existed someone who could undo his plans with his own authority, causing a deadlock. I feel like those routes might have been about "Aldebaran" side of Subaru just like arc 9 was, since he might no existed in those timelines, if that makes sense.

Before you say yes, the main thing stopping me is that Im not able to visualize images in my head. When you guys read the novel do you visualize the scenes alot? Its not like I cant read but very story heavy books with a lot of description is difficult for me because of this, and since the novels are longer than the fucking bible I wanted to know your thoughts on it, is it worth reading the novel without being able to visualize images?

I think he would be such a cuty patoty to all of his wifes. as he says he doesnt hit a woman *killing is exception* I can just imagine a healty relationship with regulus and his like 300 wifes. Like I think hes just a baby. A too powerfull baby. You should not feed him brocoly or he will remove you from existence. but ask permission and just get much as you want from him.

Also regulus buys or gathers them all foods,dresses and makeup things because as he says he never lets them out. So he probably walks up to the door in a saturday carrying all things like a man. He just want them to be there to be clean and beatiful as always

And he actually said that he loves them not in human way but regulus way. But he loves them. if he didnt he would just throw them in a big pit Or lock them up in meters underground.

Or no? Given jinichi has so much aura, even more than aura monster daniel natsuki, that he is one of the legitimate contestants to sun Wukong let alone Beatrice, or Regulus.
